RESUMO

Our studies demostrate and give prominence to the changes some large in the relative nucleophilicity of PhS¨, MeO, OH¨, (NH2)2C=NH e N3¨ in their reactions until aromatic homo- as compared with hetero-cyclic compounds. We shaw however that the order of reactivity of these nucleophiles is the same in both systems, exemplified by 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene and 4-chloropyridine-1-oxide. At 50°, for example, we shaw that the ratios with 1-chloro-2,4-dinitrobenzene which are 2,535 x 10 with PhS¨/MeOH; 1,000 for MeO¨/MeOH; 4,236 x 10 with guanidine/ 2,594 x 10 with OH¨ / Dioxane-water (60:40 v/v); and 1,875 10 with N3¨/MeOH change to 2,264 x 10°; 1,000; 9,635 10 ; 5,232 x 10 and 1,623 x 10respectively in the reactions with 4-chloro-pyridine-1-oxide. We ascribe as the pricipal reason for the changes, the differences in electron density distribuition in the intermediates of the two systems. Our studies with 2-chloropiridine-1-oxide shaw that it behaves very like the 4-chloro compound, and we explain the results in the same way. With 4-nitropyridine-1-oxide our studies shaw: (a) The greater relativa mobility af NO2, campared with Cl, in the hetero-cyclic system; (b) The greater activating power of the N-oxide function than the nitro group, in desplacement of the nitro group. (c) The greater relative reactivity of OMe¨/MeOH compared with OH¨/dioxane-water (60:40, v/v) in the hetero- aromatic system.
