RESUMO

The subject of this dissertation is to understand how learning occurs among the participants of a non-profit organization and what have them learnt from the relationship with the organizational consultants. In order to get that, a research with NPOâs employers from Recife/PE was conducted. The methodological strategy used in the research was based in a qualitative perspective. The primary instrument used for gathering the data was a semistructured interview conducted among the researched employers. On top of that, the meanings were exposed and interpreted through the pragmatic analysis of the conversation. The results of the research showed that, in order to have the learning occurring in a more wide way, it is important that the consultant adopt a posture of openness and transparency and make himself trusted in the relationship with the NPOâs employers, propitiating a environment favorable for dialogue and reflection, as well he should be flexible with his process, adapting them to the different realities of the organizations; systematic and investigative during the process and; propitiate a wider participation among the members of the organization. The consultant adopting this position and bringing an external view, impartial and critic to the consultancy relationship, allow the NPOâs members to adopt a reflexive practice opened to think and posture changing. The reflections performed from the experience acquired during the relationship with the consultants, made the NPOâs members capable to learn aspects related with the practice of hiring a consultancy and the process itself. Even was possible to perceive changes in the organizations made from the consultancy work.
