RESUMO

This dissertation is an analysis of the unenmployment chart verified in the last twenty years of the 20th century and in the first years of the 21st century in Brazil and all over the world and of the effects of this unemployment on the Labour Law in our country.We start by presenting the consequences of the technological advancements and of the mobility of the economic undertakings on the rates of unemployment and their contribution to the crisis the Labour Law came into in the 1980Âs. Next, we analyse the increase of the rates of unemployment and of the deepening of that crisis, with the presentation of employment and unemployment data in relation to many countries.Later on we go deeper in the discussion about the several aspects of unemployment directly related to the way of facing and lexperiencing the Labour Law. Finally we reflect about what should be the collaboration of the Labour Law in the search for solutions to the problem of the unemployment and, from this study we discuss if there is (or not) a correlation between the level of social protection of the labour legislation and the availability of informal jobs
