13. AvaliaÃÃo ambiental e percepÃÃo dos usuÃrios sobre os efeitos das obras de proteÃÃo de costa nas praias da Casa Caiada (Olinda) e Janga (Paulista)
The coastal zones and special the beaches are dynamical and fragile regions in a continuous change. The high population concentration in these areas results in a pressure increment upon natural resources and increased risk of environmental degradation. The coast of the Sate of Pernambuco, is experiencing coastal erosion that has many times being mitigated wi

14. Comparação dos índices de qualidade da água e usos do fator contaminação e índice de geoacumulação para os sedimentos da microbacia do arroio João Corrêa, São Leopoldo, RS, Brasil
The João Corrêa creek, with 7 km length and a 9.7 km2 micro basin (MbaJC), has its main source into the forested hilly landscape of Sapucaia county and flows trough out the São Leopoldo city, receiving along his course several urban wastes and industrial effluents. Looking for a quantified evaluation of environmental impacts related to human activities, m

15. Comportamento hídrico de superfície da Bacia do Rio Cabuçu de Cima, do Parque Estadual da Cantareira, Guarulhos, SP
Cabuçu de Cima watershed is located at Cabuçus Nucleus of the Parque Estadual da Cantareira, in the county of Guarulhos, on the northeast of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo. It has 23,8 km2 surface and contributes for homonymous reservoir of the county water producing system (SAAE Serviço de Abastecimento de Água e Energia do Município de Guarulho

16. Implementation of stormwater storage facilities for low income dwelling: the CDHU experiences. / Implantação de reservatórios de detenção em conjuntos habitacionais: a experiência da CDHU.
New stormwater control techniques have emerged during last years, trying to mimic and keep the natural conditions of hydrologic cycle. One of these measures, known as storage facility, detains part of the rainfall runoff to release it at controlled rates downstream, attenuating the hydrograph peak and redistributing the volume over a certain period of time.

17. Cenários de reúso de água pluvial e controle da drenagem visando a recuperação ambiental da micro-bacia do alto Tijuco Preto, São Carlos-SP / Scenarios of rain water reuse and control of urban drainage to environmental recovering the Alto Tijuco Preto micro basin, São Carlos-SP, Brazil
The research aims to compose planning scenarios for Master Plan using measures of environmental recovering to control of urban drainage at the scale of an ungauged basin selected. Hydrologic simulations are assessed by the implementation of several measures as: a) indirect impacts of rain water use system in the urban lot, b) urban arborization, c) detention

18. Simulações dos efeitos da cobertura vegetal no balanço hídrico da bacia do rio Ji-Paraná, RO / Simulations of the effects of vegetation cover in water balance of Ji-Paraná river basin, Rondônia, Brazil
The understanding of how the water balance of a hydrographic basin is affected by the conversion of forests into crops and pasture allow to evaluate the possible impacts of the land use and land cover changes in the regional sustainability. Using a macro-scale hydrologic VIC (Variable Infiltration Capacity) model calibrated for local conditions we simulated

19. Caracterização e zoneamento ambiental da reserva particular do patrimônio natural Parque Ecológico João Medeiros (Fazenda Verde, Rondonópolis, MT).
This study was undertaken at the Lapa microbasin (Itirapina/ Ipeúna), located in the central Cuestas region of the State of São Paulo, Brazil, with the objective to characterize ichthyofauna composition and longitudinal distribution within the basin and to examine the diversity, richness and equability for each of the 12 sample stations. Sampling took plac

20. Impacto da condição inicial de água no solo na previsão de verão da América do Sul / Impact of the initial soil water condition in the summer forecast of the South America
The objective of this work was to evaluate the impact of the initial soil water condition in the summer forecasts of the South America. The regional Eta model coupled to the land surface scheme SSiB was used in the accomplishment of the experiments. Three groups of experiments had been considered in integration of 3 months, all initialized with the observed

21. Environmental Parameters Regulating Gaseous Nitrogen Losses from Two Forested Ecosystems via Nitrification and Denitrification †
Gaseous N losses from disturbed and reference forested watersheds at the Coweeta Hydrologic Laboratory in western North Carolina were studied by in situ N2O diffusion measurements and laboratory incubations throughout a 10-month period. Soil temperature, percent base saturation, and water-filled pore space accounted for 43% of the variation in in situ N2O di
