1. A Retrospective Study of Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting with Low-Thermal Plasma Dissection Device Compared to Conventional Monopolar Electrosurgery
Abstract Introduction: The objective of this study is to compare the effects of conventional monopolar electrosurgery (CMES) and low-thermal plasma kinetic cautery (PKC) on complications such as bleeding, abnormal wound healing, pain, and drainage in patients who underwent on-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). Methods: This retrospective clinical

3. Low cost system to measure active power in electrosurgical units
Abstract Introduction: The real-time measurement of active power delivered to patients during the electrosurgical act is still an engineering challenge. Besides, there is no electrosurgical unit on the market capable of doing it according to the normative requirement. Methods This work presents the design of an electronic structure capable to probe the ele

4. A simple approach to calculate active power of electrosurgical units
Abstract Introduction: Despite of more than a hundred years of electrosurgery, only a few electrosurgical equipment manufacturers have developed methods to regulate the active power delivered to the patient, usually around an arbitrary setpoint. In fact, no manufacturer has a method to measure the active power actually delivered to the load. Measuring the d

5. Eletrocauterio na cesarea : complicações na ferida cirurgica / The use of electrocautery in caesarean sections : surgical wound complications

6. Eletrocirurgia: evidências para o cuidado de enfermagem / Electrosurgery: evidence for the nursing care
The electrosurgery is a technology largely used in surgical rooms. The perioperative period presents risks to patients from the moment they enter the surgical unit until they return to the unit of origin, and the electrosurgery constitutes one of these risks. The lack of scientific production related to the use of this technology motivated us to elaborate th

Uma análise morfométrica / Healing process on rat skin and toungue submitted to CO2 and diode lasers, eletrosurgery and scalpel incisions. A morphometric analysis
The aim of this study was to quantify and compare the healing process after incision with CO2 (2 W e 4 W) and diode lasers (2 W and 4 W), electrosurgery (2 W) and scalpel in the skin and tongue of Wistar rats (30 animals were used). One incision of each technique (6 in total) of 5 mm long and 2 mm deep was made in the dorsal skin and dorsal tongue. The anima

9. Desenvolvimento de um software para o treinamento de tecnicos de manutenção de equipamentos biomedicos
We developed a method for software design for biomedical equipment technician training. As an example, we created a software called MONITOR, which simulates the operation, functioning and maintaining of an ECG Monitor. We also wrote a Help File called "ECG Monitor Manual", that contains explanations about Heart Anatomy and Physiology, Equipment Operation, Fu

10. Fibreoptic bronchoscopic electrosurgery under local anaesthesia for rapid palliation in patients with central airway malignancies: a preliminary report.
BACKGROUND--Obstruction of a major airway by tumour causes serious morbidity. There is still scope for a widely applicable, simple and effective treatment to provide rapid palliation. METHODS--A fibreoptic bronchoscope prototype with an insulated inner sheath was used under local anaesthesia in 17 patients with locally advanced tracheobronchial malignancies.
