Uma dimensÃo contemporÃnea de EAD?: discussÃes monogrÃficas de conclusÃo de curso a distÃncia para tutores

RESUMO

In the social situation of contemporary Distant Education, the Information and Communication Technologies permeate the organizational and methodological context providing new ways to make education and expanding educational opportunities. The Federal and State Governments, in Brazil, have been invested heavily in this educational mode, stimulating the creation of courses. The Center for Education (EC), of Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), created and offered the "Post-Graduate Course Lato Sensu in distant tutoring for teachers". Our objective was to investigate the basis of contemporary Distant Education reveled by the monographs of students from this course. So, we took as a subject for analysis 46 conclusion monographs works, they summarized studentâs formation in that course. The results of our research found out, initially, that the tutoring course was also based on contemporary ideas of Distant Learning. The monographs works priorised many subject related to organization and methodology of Distant Learning, too. The themes and expressions analyzed pointed out to actual and relevant worries in the area of Distant Learning, many of them referred to the content studied in the course which reflected the tutorsâ formation. The results showed, also, that teachers in training worries were about contemporary Distant Learning especially concerning: the course organization, teaching methodology, tutor/ teacher action and the role of students, interactivity, evaluation, and didactic instruments for teaching and learning processes. We believe that our results can offer support for other initiatives in Distant Learning, by the governments or not, because we brought to the light the ideas and worries of distant learning tutors after their post-graduate formation process
