RESUMO

In this work one develops the study of the linear gyroscopic dynamical system of the conservative and of the dissipative kinds giving emphasis to the study of the stability of these systems as a important condition to the comprehension of the nonlinear gyroscopic system, the main goal of this work. In the study of the linear system one presents the mathematical conditions in a small neighborhood around the linearization point so that the obtained solution also be the solution of the weakly nonlinear system. In this context one analyses the dynamics of a two degree of freedom gyroscopic system with damped nutation and the effects over the precession movement. The nonlinear coupled equation of motion are solved utilizing the multiple scales method
