RESUMO

The high time-to-market exigency makes us rethink about the way of managing projects, in particular those related to software development. Agile management is an alternative for short duration projects, with high change of requirements. There are some approaches to work with Agile Project Management such as: Agile Project Management, Agile Project Management Framework, Extreme Project Management and Scrum. These approaches are an evolution of agile development methodologies. They have principles and practices in common because are based in the Agile Manifesto for Software Development. However, these approaches donât consider PMBOKÂ Guide practices in project management. According to some authors, an expected trend is a hybrid model between classic and agile project management. Such thing will combine the advantages of both approaches towards the project management and development to success, from the customer and the project team point of view. This work is based on this affirmation and on the hypothesis âagile management practices based on the PMBOKÂ Guide can be more efficient to manage projects more rigorous, with their focus on agile resultsâ. In order to anticipate a tendency, this work presents Agilius: a Software Agile Project Management Project approach based on PMBOKÂ Guide. To assess Agilius we used Experimental Software Engineering method. We defined goals and questions to be used in the measurement and a set of metrics to analyze the questions. Then, we performed planning and implementation of the experimental study. Finally, we performed the hypotheses verification. Concerning the experimental study results, Agilius can be considered an agile model because it covers the main characteristics that define software agile project management satisfactorily.
