RESUMO

The central focus of this study is addressed to the procedures which were used to develop an evaluatlon proposal of Co-ordinatlon, Equlibrium and Spacial Orientation to blind subjects, aiming its contrlbutlon on the teaching of locomotion techniques in Physical Actlvities and Sports. According to the classical tests in Literature by OZERETSKY (1946), SOUBlRAN (s.d.), IAPIERRE (1982), ZAZZO (1986), LEFEVRE ((1972), VAYER (1982); instructlons were adapted and added, the disposition and the execution place of each test which was consldered essential facing the aplicatlon in a "pilot group". Twenty three subjects of visual deftciency B1 (blind) were evaluated, and this deflciency was achieved after. The age of flve (that means they ve already had a mentalimage); they were adults of both sexes. The procedures used to the evaluation were composed by two stages; an interview to collect data and on the following day an apIicatlon of the average in 20 tests for each of the aspects of Co-ordinatlon, Equilbrium and Spacial Orientation. According to the LEFEVRE (1972) criteria, lt was consldered satisfactory the adaptations as long as 75% (or even more) of subjects were able to acomplish them. In relatlon to 100% of improvement, it was introduced two procedures: to eliminate some tests in which we didn t get variability in thelr answers; and to indicate others like the pre-requirement in the analysis and preparation of the subjects to be evaluated. The results of this study, which depended on one analysis of comparasison among tests in the same aspect were discussed at a 5-percent leveI of significance (GOODMAM 1964. 1965); and they showed the importance of detailed verbal information to some of the tests and the necessity to others, of the inclusion or exclusion of the sense of touch and hearing information in distance, direction, posture, height and diametre. For this reason, it was possible to select some ways to evaluate this population, from the analysls of each test separately. We understand, through this work, that is possible and emergent to evaluate the subjects of visual deftciency, improving the intervention methods either educational, sports or for locomotion. Finally, through this efficient evaluation we get the identification of individual limitations of each subject
