RESUMO

This dissertations objective will be to analyze some news papers of the western region of the state of Parana, the transformations that the native people Ava Guarani suffered with the construction of the hydroelectric power station of Itaipu and consequently the flooding of their land with the formation of a water reserve with Paranas great river. The main question here is about the foundation of the hydroelectric power station of itaipu in 1976, when the native people are involved with the construction of the barrier, later on there is a conflict between the natives and the owners of the Itaipu concerning the land. This research project helps to analyze many news articles characteristics that were written in this region, combining these, we will be able to know more about these natives. The observation of these documents indicates the difference between the ideological posture of news papers and the editorial line of each one, both with similar interest, motivated mainly by the politics and the regional economy. They are elements that influenced succession of the news and the configuration of the natives in the regional news, these vary between omission and denunciation
