RESUMO
Of the breeding biotechnologies available for use in animal, estrus induction and control and artificial insemination are those more frequently employed when genetic improvement and increased productivity are sought. The purpose of the present investigation was to evaluate, based on fertility outcomes, the efficiency of fixed-time artificial insemination (FTAI) carried out 48, 60, and 72 h after removal of a controlled internal drug release (CIDR) device in ewes of the Santa Inês breed inseminated by laparoscopy with frozen semen during the breeding season. From the results, it was possible to conclude that the best interval for FTAI with frozen semen in Santa Inês ewes in the breeding season ranges from 48 to 60 h after removal of the intravaginal device.
