RESUMO
This study analyses the adaptation of a professional educational institution to the changes occured at na external environment; that characterizes the society of the knowledge. It intends, therefore, to identify both the existence of the practices related to the knowledge management and ganizational learning; according to the perception of the organizationÂs instructors. It also investigates the existence of the human resource practices that provides both the knowledge and learning at the institutuin. To do this survey, it was used the procedure of case study, the search of the data was achieved by using the method of document research, interview, and questionnaire. The questionnaires were applied to a sample that involved instructors of four operational units from the institution studied. The analysis of data suggests an institution that has, predominantly, tradicional features in its management way; nevertheless, it indicates a proactive organization tha understands adequately the dynamics of environment in wich it is inserted.
