Falando em imagens!: processo de produção de sentido sócio-pedagógico no uso do texto imagético-verbal em atividades de ensino da língua portuguesa.

RESUMO

This work is the result of a research into the pedagogical processes of sense production of image-verbal texts (charges, strips, comics and others) in teaching activities of the Portuguese language. The work starts by emphasizing the image-verbal language as a hybrid one, whose nature is different from both the image and verbal languages either seen separately or in conjunction. It takes into consideration the social nature of the image-verbal texts, the gradual uses of these texts, in school materials and the technicist/utilitarian perspective that guides the few productions about the topic. In order to realize this research the following was considered: the image-verbal text, due to specific linguistic, keep potential characteristic of senses. This allows the theoretical and ideologically oriented teachers to go from the material and textual linguistic to the pedagogical and social meaning. It gives opportunity to make a reflexion about themes that interest o the contemporary society. This way, the research has been developed through the participative observation on some Portuguese language teachers of Ensino Fundamental in public schools of DIREC 16 (Diretoria Regional de Ensino) who participated of a community course developed by Universidade do Estado da Bahia UNEB (Jacobina city). Such a course concerned the senses of the image-verbal texts and their application in classroom. The corpus of this analysis was produced from this point. It encloses (37) thirty seven image-verbal texts within their respective plans of didactic activities taken from Portuguese didactic manuals of Ensino Fundamental, reading projects involving the image-verbal text created by teachers who took part in the course, some statements, and interviews. The study of the data and the writing of the texts were developed under an ethnographic perspective with interpretative base.
