RESUMO

The present work has proposed to verify the feasibility and the repeatability of the adoption of the Investigation Network strategy in the discipline of Health and Urgency in Physical Education and Sports in graduation courses of Physical Education in Higher Education Institutes of the State of Sao Paulo. It has tried also, to gather and explore technical elements relating to learning performance in the presence of dependent variables such as gender and evaluation instruments. There was, thus, the opportunity to study five courses in four institutes: one state institute and three private ones, one of which with activities both in day-time and evening periods. The Investigation Network strategy is characterized by the implementation of equivalent didactic-pedagogical procedures, as well as of standardized qualitative and quantitative evaluation instruments. Closed questionnaire with computation of points and batteries of tests were adopted according to the themes approached. Through such procedures, the following evidences have been collected: 1) the Investigation Network is feasible; 2) the adopted instruments and procedures have received satisfactory appreciation by the pupils; 3) the learning performance was appropriate, providing thus elements for acting on toward better living and health conditions; 4) as for the gender variable, when the assimilation of contents between male and female pupils was investigated, only in one of the 19 situations did the male/female variable appeared with statistical significance, favoring the female pupils; 5) the evening period pupils attained values equal to the day-time pupils for making good use of the contents; 6) in the leaming evaluation the courses with a large number of pupils achieved lower rates than the ones with fewer pupils, and 7) in the same evaluation the govemment colleges had a higher performance than the private ones. With such results, one expects, on one side, to contribute directly to the educational development of the realities worked on, as well as, in broad terms, to provide subsidies for sectorial public policies
