RESUMO

The objective of this thesis is to analize the viability of the process of centralization of the middle activities of the companies of the Conglomerado Econômico Sol, brief presentation of the study of the subject and the problem to be investigated. Concerning the theoretical foundation, one searches to present central concepts embodying the enterprise decision and its particularities, as well as the decision-making process. It was meant, also, to approach questions regarding the enterprise strategies, defining its concept, the schools of the strategical thought and the importance of the strategies defined for the organizations. Furthermore, limiting aspects for the formation of holding companies are displayed, controlling companies, or still, an administrative center that can centralize the middle activities of the conglomerate. It was also approached, specifications of the systems of managemental information. Once made the considerations on the focused theory, it presents the metodology procedures for the elaboration of the thesis, being the work characterization of qualitative nature, using a descriptive approach, the way of inquiry through a case study. The instruments of collection of data have been raised through questionnaires, interviews and technique of focus group. The studied population have been the five companies of bigger representation of the Conglomerado Econômico Sol. Tabulated the data, analysis has become fulfilled including some considerations on centralization of the middle activities, searching to focus the objective initially traced. To the end of the thesis, brief appreciation on the carried through research and some recommendations for future studies and researches.
