Biodiversidade e aspectos ecolÃgicos de Macroalgas Marinhas EpÃfitas da Angiosperma Marinha Halodule wrightii na BaÃa de Suape, Pernambuco

RESUMO
Studies were carried out in Suape Bay - PE, located 40 km south of Recife city (8Â15â00â, 8Â30â00âS and 34Â55â00â, 35Â05â00âW), in order to assess the biodiversity and ecological aspects of seaweed epiphytes of Halodule wrightii. Six collections were carried out from July/September 2006 to January/March 2007, during the spring low tide. Three stations were ploted and in each one a perpendicular transect to the coast, with 50 m lenght, were inserted and 20 aleatory samples were collected. Samples were taken to the Benthos Laboratory of the Department of Oceanography where identification and biomass data were obtained. It was identified 28 taxa of which 18 belong to the Phylum Rhodophyta, 8 to Ochrophyta and 2 to Chlorophyta, besides a group of red algae identified as calcarious incrustate. The most representative family was Ceramiaceae (Rhodophyta) with 7 species, followed by Rhodomelaceae (Rhodophyta) and Dictyotaceae (Ochrophyta) with 6 species each. Halodule wrightii biomass was higher than the macroalgae epiphytes biomass with significant difference (p<0.5) between them, during all the studied period. Hypnea musciformis was the most frequent species with 85% followed by the calcarious incrustate and Canistrocarpus cervicornis with 70% and 61% of frequency of occurrence, repectively. The other species presented less than 55%. In relation to the plant part where the epiphytes occur the cluster analysis formed two groups, one with the epiphytes of rhyzoma and the other with epiphytes of the leaves. In the samples cluster analysis it was formed two groups, one with species from stations B and C, and other with species from station A. Neosiphonia gorgoniae is confirmed to the Northeastern and recorded by the first time to the coast of Pernambuco
