RESUMO

In way to a maneuver politics, it was given, in 16 of august of 1852, the transference of the old city of the province, Oeiras, for the new village of the Poti, future, city of Teresina. In little time, Teresina became the main destination of slaves and free men of the province of the Piauí. The reasons were in such a way in the transference of the provincial bureaucracy as in the construction of the new city, until then with few building and residentials. To the measure that this local elite occupied the large houses in the central part of the two clienteles of the city - ours lady of the support and ours lady of pains - enslaved and libertos they constituíam, inside and outside of the urban limits, mechanisms of survival and sociabilities. Thus, many black ones were necessary to reinventar, in the city of Teresina, other relations, for this, had had in the domain on roças, folguedos/batuques and the formation of black communities, known, at the time, as calojis, the bedding for such expectations. It would fit to the local elites, the organization of a police apparatus capable to keep the effective relations of domination, based in the method of clipping and, in some cases, the permission of these manifestations of the black identity in the city of Teresina. in this way, in the public space them streets, the proposal civilizatória would be supported in an emphatical politics of social control, over all, in supposed a police efficiency. This because, in a time of disaggregation of the enslaved institution and ticket of the servile man power for the wage-earner, to forge, enters those just-left the world of the slavery, inclinations to the work, would give new sensible to the violent experiences of the captivity and, therefore, other meanings to the work idea. It is, therefore, trying to analyze the experiences of blacks, captives and libertos, and its conflicts with the teresinense escravista society of century xix that the present dissertação if structure.
