RESUMO

This work aims to analyse the writing production of a sample of students from Parana state (Brazil) in seven mathematics questions of PISA/2006, considered non-routine, related to the overaching ideas of Change and Relationships to understand how they deal with this questions in assessement situation. The approach used for this investigation was predominantly qualitative and interpretative, realized and based on Content Analysis, assuming evaluation as an investigation practice. The study involved the identification, the inventory and the analysis of strategies and procedures used by students. Taking into consideration the similarities found in the student s resolutions, they were grouped according to the procedures adopted. In general, among other things, it was possible to verify that some interpretations and solutions were different from those considered correct; students showed a little involvement with the questions, and, although they showed an apparently dominance of the procedures, they presented some difficult in solve them.
