RESUMO
This dissertation is the result of theoretical and practical research into making theatre with children and adolescents, with a specific focus on how this process effects the artistic and pedagogical approaches developed collectively by Companhia Novos Novos. The research focuses on the performances created by the company, their aesthetic and theoretical roots and the groups use of art education. This description is accompanied by an analytical study of the teacher-student dynamics present between the group of artists directing the process and the cast members. Finally, the performances that make up Companhia Novos Novos repertoire are presented and analysed using the theoretical base developed previously along with interviews and participation-observation. As well as the impact that the performances have on the public and on the young people who participate in the creative process, the final productions also validate the work of Companhia Novos Novos, thanks to their artistic rigour and educational content.
