RESUMO

This work aims to identify the agendas presented by the columnists from the section "Opinion" of Folha de São Paulo newspaper in the period of president Lulas first mandate (2003-2006). This period was specially relevant in the Brazilian history considering the characteristics of the president elected by the Partido dos Trabalhadores (the labor party): Northeastern origin, former union leader, founder of PT and CUT and one of the most important characters of the Brazilian politics, who represented the hopes of workers from the city and rural areas, organic intellectuals, and leftist Brazilian organizations. The national newspapers periodically publish opinion articles written by politics, academics, religious leaders, entrepreneurs, writers, notorious people, who express their opinion in a daily basis about a wide variety of subjects. This work seeks to show the possible agenda and worthiness of the judgements made about Lulas government in published articles from the newspaper Folha de São Paulo, considering as criteria positive, negative and neutral
