13. Functional cytology of the hepatopancreas of Palaemonetes argentinus (Crustacea, Decapoda, Caridea) under osmotic stress
The present work describes the effect of different salinities on the functional morphology of the P. argentinus hepatopancreas and analyses the tissue recovery after re-acclimation to freshwater. Adult prawns of both sexes at sexual rest were collected from a tributary of the Mar Chiquita coastal lagoon. The prawns were acclimated in aquaria to four salinity

14. Maintenance of filtering molluscs in aquaria for sub-chronic studies

Sources of lipids for juvenile trairão (Hoplias lacerdae)
This study aimed to evaluate diets with different oil sources on juveniles of trairão (Hoplias lacerdae). Experimental design was completely randomized with five replications and four treatments (oils: canola, flaxseed, soybean and olive oils). Treatments were isonitrogenous (42% PB) and isocaloric (4569.29 kcal EB/kg), differing only in the source of oil.

16. Levels of protein and energy in diets for fingerlings of trairão Hoplias lacerdae / Níveis de proteína e energia em dietas para alevinos de trairão Hoplias lacerdae
Through the present research work, evaluating the levels of crude protein (CP) and gross energy (GE) for fingerlings of trairão (Hoplias lacerdae) was sought. The completely randomized design with four replicates in factorial scheme 4 x 3 were utilized, namely, four levels of crude protein (35; 39; 43 and 47%) and three levels of gross energy (4100; 4300 an

17. Distribuição diária das atividades comportamentais dos camarões marinhos Farfantepenaeus subtilis (Pérez Farfante, 1967) e Litopenaeus schmitti (Burkenroad, 1938) em condições laboratoriais
Marine aquaculture has developed in the last decades all over the world, especially related to shrimp management. In Brazil, the introduction of the species Litopenaeus vannamei has contributed to the success of the activity, even if there are problems associated with the management of a exotic species, such as new diseases and ecological pressure on native

18. Exigências em proteína e energia e valor biológico de alimentos para o dourado Salminus brasiliensis / Protein and energy requirements and biological value of selected feedstuffs for the dourado Salminus brasiliensis
The dourado, Salminus brasiliensis, presents excellent farming characteristics, such as fast growth and excellent flesh quality. However, the lack of the knowledge on the species nutritional requirements and biological value of feedstuffs hamper the formulation of diets for optimized performance and, consequently, the speciesintensive farming. To determine d

19. Analise histoquimica, ultra-estrutural e morfometrica do efeito de drogas anti-inflamatorias não esteroides (naproxeno e indometacina) sob a regeneração da nadadeira caudal de teleosteo, Cyprinus carpio (carpa) / Histochemical, ultra-structural and morphometric analysis of the effect of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (naproxen and indomethacin) under the tail fin regeneration of teleostm Cyprinus carpio (carp)
The fins of teleosts, when partially amputated, they pass for a quick regenerative process called epimorphic regeneration, characterized by the formation of a mass of undifferentiated cells, by the differentiation of these cells, by the synthesis and the deposition of the extracellular matrix and morphological restoration. The regeneration of the fin is extr

20. Assessment of the dye removal capability of submersed aquatic plants in a laboratory-scale wetland system using anova
The textile dye (Basic Blue 41(BB41)) removal capability of a laboratory-scale wetland system was presented in this study. Twenty glass aquaria were used to establish the wetland. Myriophyllum spicatum and Ceratophyllum demersum were planted in the aquaria and acclimated. After establishing flow conditions, the aquaria were fed with synthetic wastewaters con

21. Utilização de hidrolisado protéico de camarão em rações para tilápia do Nilo (Oreochromis niloticus,L.)
Aquaculture requires high-quality feeds with high protein content. So, the determination of less-expensive sources of protein which provides good growth is advantageous. Shrimp wastes have been identified as an animal protein source with great potential. Shrimp protein hydrolysate (SPH), a derived product obtained from shrimp wastes, was considered an excell

22. Estudo comparativo de dois tipos de cultivo: monocultivo (camarões) versus cultivo integrado (algas/camarões)
The integrated culture of seaweed and aquatic animals is an ancient practice in Asian countries. The expansion of this practice to western countries is consequence of the recognition of this system as a sustainable alternative that allows economical diversification and mitigation of environmental impacts generated by effluents of aquaculture. This study eval

23. Stress responses of the fish Nile tilapia subjected to electroshock and social stressors
Plasma cortisol and glucose levels were measured in 36 adult Nile tilapia males, Oreochromis niloticus (standard length, mean ± SD, 14.38 ± 1.31 cm), subjected to electroshock and social stressors. Pre-stressor levels were determined 5 days after the adjustment of the fish to the experimental aquaria (1 fish/aquarium). Five days later, the effects of stres

24. Análise do potencial pedagógico de espaços não-formais de ensino para o desenvolvimento da temática da biodiversidade e sua conservação / The pedagogical potential of non-formal teaching spaces for the development of the thematic of the biodiversity and its preservation
The specialized literature presents the importance of zoological gardens, museums, aquaria and botanical gardens as tools for the preservation, education and research involving the knowledge of the species. Concomitantly, there has been a significant increase in the preoccupation with the environmental issue, proclaiming education, with considerable frequenc
