1. Expression of genes related to soil flooding tolerance in soybeans
ABSTRACT. The flooded environment brings about injuries to soybeans that vary depending on the adaptation ability of the genotype. Oxygen deprivation promotes the induction of the expression of genes related to glycolysis and fermentation pathways to maintain energy metabolism and, in addition to reducing-power consuming processes, act in the formation of ad

2. Expression analysis of cell wall assembly and remodelling-related genes in Arabidopsis roots subjected to boron stress and brassinosteroid at different developmental stages
ABSTRACT Plant cell walls are affected by many biotic and abiotic stress conditions. The aim of this study is to determine the effects of 24-Epibrassinolide (EBL) on some cell wall-related genes in root tissue of five- and ten-week-old Arabidopsis thaliana plants exposed to boron (B) deficiency (0 µM) or toxicity (3000 µM) at the transcriptional level. Exp

3. Synthesis and characterization of a cysteine xyloglucan conjugate as mucoadhesive polymer

5. Diurnal changes in storage carbohydrate metabolism in cotyledons of the tropical tree Hymenaea courbaril L. (Leguminosae)
The cotyledons of Hymenaea courbaril store large amounts of xyloglucan, a cell wall polysaccharide that is believed to serve as storage for the period of seedling establishment. During storage mobilisation, xyloglucan seems to be degraded by a continuous process that starts right after radicle protrusion and follows up to the establishment of photosynthesis.

6. Desenvolvimento de biossensores eletroquímicos baseados em filmes de xiloglucana para detecção de Ricina e Ricinus communis aglutinina. / Development of biosensors based on electrochemical xiloglucana films for detection of Ricin and Ricinus communis agglutinin.
No entanto,

7. Enzyme activities and pectin breakdown of sapodilla submitted to 1-methylcyclopropene.
The objective of this work was to investigate the influence of 1-methylcyclopropene (1-MCP) at 300 nL L-1 on activities of cell wall hidrolytic enzymes and pectin breakdown changes which Sapodilla (Manilkara zapota cv. Itapirema 31) cell wall undergoes during ripening. Sapodilla were treated with ethylene antagonist 1-MCP at 300 nL L-1 for 12 hours and then,

8. Modificações da parede celular de frutos do mamoeiro (Carica papaya L.) em diferentes estadios do desenvolvimento / Modifications of the cell wall of fruits of papaya (Carica papaya L.) at various stages of development
The plant cell wall is a unique component of plant tissues and its polysaccharide composition essential to understand food texture and its changes during post-harvestingl especially of climateric fruits, as is the case of papaya. The plant cell wall is composed of three domains: the first is formed by cellulose and hemicelluloses, the second of pectins and t

9. Isolamento de cDNAs parciais de quatro genes do metabolismo de carboidratos e analise de seus padrões de expressão durante a fase inicial do desenvolvimento de plantulas de jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril L.) / Isolation of four partial cDNA sequences of genes of the carbohydrate metabolism in jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril L.) and their pattern of expression during early seedling growth
The jatobas (species belonging to the genus Hymenaea, family Leguminosae) display large physiological plasticity and as a consequence they have great adaptive capacity to several habitats. Different species and varieties of jatobas have adapted practically to all Brazilian tropical biomes, including the Amazon Forest and the complex of ecosystems that is for

10. Caracterização funcional de uma xiloglucano galactosiltransferase de Eucalyptus grandis e uma ramnose sintase de Arabidopsis thaliana: Efeitos sobre a estrutura e composição da parede celular primária / Functional characterization of a xyloglucan galactosyltransferase of Eucalyptus grandis and a rhamnose synthase of Arabidopsis thaliana: Effects upon the structure and composition of the primary cell wall
The plant cell wall has been associated with several important biological functions. It surrounds the plant, protecting it against mechanical injuries, biotic and abiotic stresses. In addition, plant cell walls determine cell shape and growth rates. The main constituents of plant cell walls are: cellulose, hemicellulose, pectine, lignin and proteins, which v

11. Phytotoxic and antifungal compunds from legume seeds that accumulate glactomannan and xyloglucan as cell wall storage polysacharides / Substancias fitotoxicas e antifungicas em sementes de leguminosas que acumulam gelactomanano e xiloglucano como carboidratos de reservas de parede celular
Sesbania virgata (Cav.) Pers. and Hymenaea courbaril L. var. stilbocarpa (Fabaceae) are two tropical legume species with seeds that contain galactomannan and xyloglucan, respectively, as seed storage polysaccharides, which are broken down after germination, generating large amounts of monosaccharides and oligosaccharides. Part of these sugars is released to
