Abstract This study is carried out within the Inter-American Network of Healthy Housing framework, supported by OPS / OMS, and it springs from the need to strengthen national and local systems of environmental health control and monitoring so as to identify social inequalities and to promote alternative forms that foster the development of the Latin American region.
