Biological phosphate removal using a degradable carbon source produced by hydrothermal treatment of excess sludge

The possibility of reusing excess sludge treated by hydrothermal reaction for the purpose of improving the efficiency of the enhanced biological phosphate removal (EBPR) process was investigated.
