ANALYSIS OF ELASTICITY IN WOODS SUBMITTED TO THE STATIC BENDING TEST USING THE PARTICLE IMAGE VELOCIMETRY (PIV) TECHNIQUE

ABSTRACT The most important parameter in terms of material mechanical behavior knowledge is the modulus of elasticity, being traditionally obtained through destructive tests. The objective of this study is the verification of the potential use of the particle image velocimetry technique (PIV) as a tool to obtain the modulus of elasticity in sawed wood samples (Pinus oocarpa and Eucaliptus grandis) and wood panels (Plywood, LVL and OSB).
