1. Tensile Armor Wires Submitted to Slow Strain Rate Tests in a Corrosive Environment and Cathodic Protection: a Comparison Between Two Different Microstructures
Tensile armor in flexible pipes consists of two or more layers of steel wires. Damage to the outer sheath may cause ingress of seawater in the annular space and thus corrosion of the armor wires. This work focused on the susceptibility of these wires to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) and hydrogen embrittlement (HE) using a slow strain rate test (SSRT) under

2. Investigation of Stress Corrosion Cracking of Austenitic, Duplex and Super Duplex Stainless Steels under Drop Evaporation Test using Synthetic Seawater
Abstract Stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of UNS S31603 austenitic stainless steel (ASS), UNS S32205 duplex stainless steel (DSS) and UNS S32750 super duplex stainless steel (SDSS) was investigated. SCC tests were carried out at 110 ºC for 500 h under drops of synthetic seawater (DET, drop evaporation test). Two loading conditions were investigated: 50 % and

3. The Influence and Mechanism of Residual Stress on the Corrosion Behavior of Welded Structures
To study the influence of residual stress on the corrosion behavior of welded structures, methods such as residual stress measurement, microstructure observation, and corrosion morphology observation were used. The energy transformation model and corrosion-resistance constant model were utilized to reveal the mechanism of residual stress on the welded struct

4. Electrochemical Noise for Detection of Stress Corrosion Cracking of Low Carbon Steel Exposed to Synthetic Soil Solution
In the last years, electrochemical noise (EN) has demonstrate that is capable of detect the initiation of cracks during the slow strain rate tests (SSRT). In this research, EN has been used as a tool to detect stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in low carbon steel (X52) exposed to a synthetic soil solution called NS4 at room temperature with pH of 5, 8 and 10.

5. Evaluación De La Influencia De Las Condiciones De Fondo De Pozo En El Deterioro De Un Acero API P110, En Ambientes Simulados Del Proceso De Combustión In Situ, Por Gravimetría Y EIS
ABSTRACT Given the large amount of consumption of oil as an energy source, is resulting in a diminution in the existing world oil, the exploitation of heavy oil emerges as new alternative extraction is left aside because of the difficulties associated to processing. Therefore the in situ combustion process is an extraction method that facilitates production

6. Environmentally induced cracking of API grade steel in near-neutral pH soil
Environmentally induced cracking of pipeline steels in contact with soil have been investigated. Different soils were prepared in order to determine their physical, chemical and bacteriological characteristics. Slow strain rate testing was carried out by using electrolytes obtained from soil samples and NS4 standard solution. Stress vs. strain curves of API

7. Influência do tamanho de grão austenítico na resistência à corrosão sob tensão de aços para aplicação sour service
In this work, was studied the influence of prior austenite grain size on the susceptibility of some steels on sulfide stress corrosion cracking in sour environments with high H2S content. The base of the work will be two steels with a range of carbon equal a 0,24 and 0,34% containing chromium, molybdenum, vanadium, niobium and titanium. It was varied the hea

9. Comportamento em Corrosão Sob Tensão de um Aço Inoxidável Ferrítico AISI 444 Soldado com Aço Inoxidável Austenítico AISI 316LSi, em Meios Contendo Cloretos
The behavior in stress corrosion cracking (SCC) of ferritic stainless steel AISI 444 welded by MIG process with austenitic stainless steel AISI 316LSi was evaluated. Aqueous solutions containing 1M HCl, pH @ 0,0 at room temperature and 42 weight% of MgCl2 at the boiling temperature (143C) have been employed. The experiments included constant load and constan

10. A continuum damage model for the stress corrosion cracking of austenitic stainless steel
In the present work, the mechanical behavior of stress corrosion cracking phenomenon is described. Such phenomenon presents strong complexity due to metallurgic and electrochemical aspects. A methodology for modeling both SSR (Slow Strain Rate) and CL (Constant Load) tests based upon thermodynamics of continuum solids and elastoplastic damage is proposed. In

11. EVALUATION OF API STEEL WELDED JOINTS IN A CORROSIVE MEDIUM / AVALIAÇÃO DA JUNTA SOLDADA DE AÇO API EM MEIO CORROSIVO
The steel tubes used in the Oil Industry are constantly exposed to hydrogen sulphide (H2S) which leads to the diffusion of hydrogen into the steel, provoking hydrogen induced embrittlement cracks and/or stress corrosion cracking. Welded joints, generally considered to be the critical region in pipelines, were evaluated in this study, using slow strain rate t
