13. Performance and carcass characteristics of Nellore young bulls fed different sources of oils, protected or not from rumen degradation
The objective was to evaluate the addition of vegetable oils protected or not from rumen degradation in the diet of feedlot-finished young bulls and their effects on performance and carcass characteristics. Thirty-five Nellore males of 402.69±14.90 kg initial weight and 18±2 months of age were utilized. The animals were confined for 96 days, after 28 days

14. Effect of salt on the growth and metabolism of Glycine max
Soybean plants cultivated with 50, 100 and 200 mM of NaCl, revealed that root growth was less affected by salinity than shoots. Salinity led to a reduction in leaf area and an increase in water content of the roots. These factors could contribute to the adaptation of the plant, improving its hydration. Although nitrate and free amino acid levels were reduced

15. Nutrient intake and digestibility of the lipid residue of biodiesel from palm oil in sheep
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of inclusion of lipid residue of biodiesel originated in the processing of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis) in the diet on the digestibility of feedlot lambs. Twenty-five crossbred male castrated lambs, weighing 20±1.61 kg, were distributed in randomized blocks with five treatments and five replications. Th

16. Protein sources for crossbred dairy cows in the semiarid
Alternative sources of protein for lactating cows were evaluated in this study with respect to intake, digestibility, milk yield and milk composition. Eight multiparous Holstein/Gyr cows were simultaneously distributed in two 4 × 4 latin squares. Each experimental period lasted 21 days (14 days for adaptation and seven days to collect data and samples). Thr

17. Suplementação com análogo de metionina HMB (2-Hidroxi-4-(Metil) ácido Butânico) em dieta de bovinos da raça Nelore terminados em confinamento / Supplementation with HMB (2-hydroxy-4-(methyithio) Butanoic acid) methionine analog in diet of Nellore cattle finished in feedlot
Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the inclusion of levels of HMB (DL, 2-hydroxy-4-(methyl) botanical acid) methionine in diets of Nellore beef cattle finished in feedlot. In Experiment 1, 128 male, unneutered Nellore animals, with initial weight of 290 kg ( 20,50), were housed for 111 days (21 days of adaptation and 90 days of experiment) in 16 pens

18. Genotype and environment interaction on soybean yield in Mato Grosso State, Brazil.
The objective of this work was to investigate the genotype-environment interaction in Mato Grosso State, MT. The relative importance of locations, years, sowing dates and cultivars and their interactions was analyzed from data collected in regional yield trials performed in a randomized complete block design with four replications, from 1994-1995 through 199

19. Performance of food-type soybean genotypes and their possibility for adaptation to brazilian latitudes.
This work was conducted at the Universidade Estadual de Londrina (UEL), inLondrina, State of Parana, Brazil, with the goat to study food-type soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merrill) genotypes performance for use in cultivation or crosses. A total of 104 genotypes were analyzed: 88 were food-type with large seeds, eight were food-type with small seeds, and eight-g

21. Stability of soybean yield through different sowing periods.
Soybean yield is highly affected by sowing period and there are significant productivity losses when sowings are done outward a relatively restricted period in many regions of Brazil. Breeding cultivars less sensitive to photoperiod and to temperature variations is desirable for adaptation to wider sowing period and wider latitude range and also make irrigat

23. Comparison between hill and row plots methods on selection of soybeans for aluminium tolerance in a brazilian savannah (cerrado) acid soil.
Os resultados in
