1. A Blue BRICS, Maritime Security, and the South Atlantic
Abstract Analysts frequently label the BRICS grouping of states (Brazil, India, Russia, China, and South Africa) as primarily an economic club emphasising economic performances as primary objectives. Co-operation of international groupings are rarely, if ever, set within the context of their access to maritime interests, security, and benefits. A second void

3. Rill and gully erosion risk of lateritic terrain in South-Western Birbhum District, West Bengal, India
A área

5. Geology and metallogenetic potential of the anorthositic-leucogabbroic Lagoa da Vaca Complex, Curaça, Bahia State, Brazil / Geologia e potencial metalogenetico do complexo anortositico-leucogabroico de Lagoa da Vaca, municipio de Curaça, Bahia
The complex is one of the three litho-structural domains mapped (central domain), and has an outcrop width of 3 kilometers. It is made up mostly of north-south-trending layers of anorthositic, meta-leucogabbroic, meta-gabbroic and ultramafic compositions. Ultramafic rocks of unknown stratigraphic relations, vz. peridotite and amphibole meta-peridotite, were

6. SANDY BEACH MORPHODYNAMICS AND MACROBENTHIC COMMUNITIES IN TEMPERATE, SUBTROPICAL AND TROPICAL REGIONS - A MACROECOLOGICAL APPROACH
A comprehensive study involving 52 microtidal beaches spanning from reflective to dissipative states and located in tropical, subtropical and temperate regions in the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans was carried out to unravel the relative roles of latitude and beach morphodynamics in determining beach macrobenthic species richness, abundance, biomass and

7. Análise de terrenos na porção setentrional da Província Borborema, NE do Brasil: integração de dados geológicos e gravimétricos
It is presently assumed that the Borborema Province resulted from a complex collisional process associated with the convergent movement of plates, possibly involving amalgamation and accretion of microplates. This process was consolidated at the end of the Brasiliano event. It is investigated the possible limits for the tectonostratigraphic terranes in the n

10. The Making of the African mtDNA Landscape
Africa presents the most complex genetic picture of any continent, with a time depth for mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) lineages >100,000 years. The most recent widespread demographic shift within the continent was most probably the Bantu dispersals, which archaeological and linguistic evidence suggest originated in West Africa 3,000–4,000 years ago, spreading

11. Phylogenetic subtypes of human T-lymphotropic virus type I and their relations to the anthropological background.
Isolates of human T-lymphotropic virus type I (HTLV-I) were phylogenetically analyzed from native inhabitants in India and South America (Colombia and Chile) and from Ainu (regarded as pure Japanese descendants from the preagricultural "Jomon" period). Their genomes were partially sequenced together with isolates from Gabon in central Africa and from Ghana i
