1. PRELIMINARILY DEVELOPMENT OF A MOISTURE-ACTIVATED BIORESORBABLE POLYMERIC PLATFORM FOR DRUG DELIVERY
Bioresorbable polymeric films were prepared by solvent casting using a tyrosine-derived polycarbonate and metronidazole (MDZ) as the model drug at 2.5%, 5% and 10% (w/w). Drug loading did not affect the water uptake, drug release, polymer degradation or erosion profiles. All devices released approximately 85% (w/w) of the drug within a 1.5 h period. This may

2. Dynamic analysis of a cantilever beam excited by a non ideal source / Análise dinâmica de uma viga engastada excitada por uma fonte não ideal
Studies about the dynamic behaviour of nonlinear structures have been to this date subject of extensive research all around the world. Since the beginning of the development of the nonlinear oscillation theory one has tried to understand the basic mechanisms, like disruptions that would cause complex answers on flexible structures. This paper presents a theo

3. Uma investigação sobre a aplicabilidade da teoria de sistemas não-ideais a fundações de máquinas reais. / An investigation on the applicability of the non-ideal systems theory to real machine foundations.
The main objective of the present project is to verify the interaction between the foundation structure of a machine - an industrial fan - with the excitation source, its own motor, in this case to identify possible occurrence of the so called "jump phenomenon", also known as Sommerfeld Effect. Such phenomenon is derived from the dynamic coupling between the

5. Impact control of structural vibrations excited by nonideal loads. / Controle por impacto de vibrações estruturais excitadas por carregamentos não-ideais.
We present mathematical models with few degrees of freedom for the study of nonlinear structural vibrations excited by a non ideal energy source, with impact damping, for two applications: a portal frame that supports an electric motor and a tower structure supporting an aeolian turbine. We consider that there is interaction between the energy supply and the

6. Escape in a nonideal electro-mechanical system
In this work a particular system is investigated consisting of a pendulum whose point of support is vibrated along a horizontal guide by a two bar linkage driven from a DC motor, considered as a limited power source. This system is nonideal since the oscillatory motion of the pendulum influences the speed of the motor and vice-versa, reflecting in a more com

7. Teoria de sistemas vibratorios aporticados não-lineares e não-ideais
This work concerns the computational and analytical study of the non-linear dynamic behavior of a portal frame, excited by a non-ideal source - an unbalanced direct current electric motor of limited power. A problem whose mathematical model represents a simplified system (the characteristic of the motor in stationary state) and complete (the electric equatio

8. Estudo do efeito kondo na serie de compostos La1-x Ybx Cu3 AL2
The electrical resistivity (r) and the specific heat ( c) were measured for the series of compounds Lal-xYbxCu3Al2 (0x1). The system was characterized using X-ray diffraction and metallography and shows the hexagonal structure for all samples with the CaCu5 type. The unit cell volume Íncreases as the La concentration increases. The resistivity results prese

9. Influence of Stabilizer Concentration on Effectiveness of Chlorine as an Algicide
Cyanuric acid, used as chlorine stabilizer in swimming pool waters, has a relatively minor effect on the algicidal efficiency of free chlorine. The toxicity of free chlorine to three swimming pool algae was reduced slightly by 25 mg of cyanuric acid per liter if inhibiting, but less than algicidal, concentrations of chlorine were employed. Higher stabilizer
