13. First record of Petalidium suspiriosum Burkenroad, 1937 (Dendrobranchiata, Sergestidae) in the Gulf of California, Mexico
Abstract The pelagic shrimp Petalidium suspiriosum described from off Clarion Island, Mexico, in the eastern Pacific, is recorded for the first time in the Gulf of California. The unique male specimen was captured in deep water of the central Gulf of California. Diagnostic characters, including the petasma, are illustrated and briefly described.

14. Biometric relationships between body size and otolith size in 15 demersal marine fish species from the northern Brazilian coast

15. Recovery of chitin and chitosan from shrimp waste with microwave technique and versatile application

16. Setogenesis and characterization of the new moult substages in the freshwater shrimp Palaemon argentinus (Nobili, 1901) (Caridea: Palaemonidae)
Abstract The moult cycle of crustaceans is continuous and during different stages of this cycle, physiological, biochemical and morphological changes occur. Therefore, understanding the different stages of the moult cycle in the target species becomes critical for a wide range of biological studies. Here we describe the natural cycle changes in the freshwate

18. U-Pb SHRIMP dating of basement rocks of the Iriri-Xingu domain, Central Amazonian province, Amazonian craton, Brazil
Abstract The Iriri-Xingu domain, located in the central part of the Amazonian craton, consists of extensive occurrences of Paleoproterozoic volcanic rocks and granites with published ages of ca. 1990 to 1840 Ma, which show a strong crustal contribution for their magmas. Exposures of basement rocks are small and rare. Samples from two areas were dated in this

19. Mollusk bycatch in trawl fisheries targeting the Atlantic seabob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri on the coast of Sergipe, northeastern Brazil
Abstract The malacofauna bycatch of sea-bob shrimp Xiphopenaeus kroyeri (Heller, 1862) trawl fisheries on the coast of Sergipe was studied for 5 years. The malacofauna bycatch considered was obtained in nine oceanographic sampling campaigns carried out between May 1999 and June 2003 in 18 stations distributed in six transects along depths of 10, 20 and 30 m.

20. Síntesis y caracterización de un novedoso biomaterial a base de quitosano modificado con aminoácidos
ABSTRACT The chemical modification of chitosan (CH) from shrimp shells (Litopenaeus vannamei) was performed with amino acids: L-leucine (Leu) and L-tyrosine (Tyr), in order to change some of its physical and chemical properties, which allow the enhancement of the applications of chitosan in biomedical and pharmacological areas. The characterization of chitos

21. Geochemistry, Sm-Nd isotopes and SHRIMP U-Pb geochronology of the Morro do Coco Granite (RJ, Brazil): another piece of the post-collisional magmatism of the Ribeira Belt
Abstract The Morro do Coco granite (MC) is a post-collisional intrusive body that was emplaced at Ribeira Belt, in the Cambro-Ordovician, succeeding the final stages of the Gondwana supercontinent amalgamation. This unit requires more studies, contrasting with similar best investigated occurrences of the central Ribeira Belt. This work presents a detailed in

22. Increasing feed allowance in low-fish meal diets allows for a reduction in dietary methionine for juvenile Litopenaeus vannamei raised in green-water tanks
ABSTRACT A 10-week study was conducted to evaluate the effect of feed allowance and graded levels of dietary methionine (Met) on growth performance of Litopenaeus vannamei. Juvenile shrimp of 1.83±0.14 g were stocked in 42 outdoor green-water tanks of 1 m3 under 120 shrimp m−2. Animals were fed under two feed allowances, regular and 30% in excess.
