13. Swelling of self-adhesive resin cement increases long-term push-out bond strength of fiber post to dentin
Abstract Aim: To evaluate the long-term post push-out bond strength to dentin, water sorption, solubility and swelling of conventional and self-adhesive dual-cure resin cements. Methods: Forty-eight bovine roots were prepared for fiber post cementation with RelyX ARC and RelyX U100. According to resin cement and storage time (24 h and 6 months), 4 groups

14. A systematic review of factors associated with the retention of glass fiber posts
This study aimed to identify factors that can affect the retention of glass fiber posts to intra-radicular dentin based on in vitro studies that compared the bond strength (BS) of GFPs cemented with resin cements. Searches were carried out in PubMed and Scopus until December 2013. Bond strength values and variables as type of tooth, presence of endodontic tr

15. Evaluation of pH, ultimate tensile strength, and micro-shear bond strength of two self-adhesive resin cements
The aim of this study was to evaluate the pH, ultimate tensile strength (UTS), and micro-shear bond strength (µSBS) of two self-adhesive resin cements to enamel and dentin. Sound bovine incisors (n = 10) and two self-adhesive resin cements (i.e., RelyX U-100 and seT PP) were used. The pH of the resin cements was measured using a pH-indicator paper (n = 3).

16. Immediate and delayed photoactivation of self-adhesive resin cements and retention of glass-fiber posts
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of immediate and delayed photoactivation of self-adhesive resin cements (SARCs) on the retention of glass-fiber posts luted into root canals. Bovine incisors were endodontically treated, and post holes of 9 mm in depth were prepared. Fiber posts were luted using one of two SARCs, BisCem(r) (Bisco Inc., Schaumb

17. Bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements to dry and moist dentin
This study evaluated the effects of humidity conditions and evaluation times on the dentin bond strength (DBS) of two self-adhesive resin cements (RC). The RC used were: RelyX Unicem (3M ESPE) and Clearfil SA Cement (Kuraray Med.). One hundred and twenty coronal portions of bovine incisors (n = 10) were used. Buccal surfaces were abraded in order to expose a

18. Dentin deproteinization effect on bond strength of self-adhesive resin cements
This study examined the effect of deproteinization on the bond strength between self-adhesive resin cements and dentin surfaces that were untreated (control), acid-etched, or acid-etched and subjected to a post-etch deproteinization treatment. Cylinders of RelyX Unicem or BisCem (n = 6) cement were build-up on the dentin surfaces and tested to determine shea

19. Intra-radicular dentin treatments and retention of fiber posts with self-adhesive resin cements
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of treating intraradicular dentin with irrigating solutions on the retention of glass-fiber posts luted with self-adhesive resin cement. Bovine incisors were endodontically treated, and 9-mm-deep postholes were prepared. Before inserting the cement, the root canals were irrigated with various solutions: 11.5%

20. Resistência adesiva dos cimentos resinosos convencionais e autoadesivos à dentina contaminada por saliva / Bond strength of different composite resin cements and dentin interfaces contaminated with saliva
Many dental injuries require indirect restorations fixed by adhesive cements. In some situations is not possible to isolate the operative field, which can lead to contamination by saliva of the dentin. The aim of this study was to analyze the treatment of dentin contaminated with saliva on shear bond strength of conventional and self-adhesive resin cements.

21. Effects of etching and adhesive applications on the bond strength between composite resin and glass-ionomer cements
OBJECTIVE: This study determined the effects of various surface treatment modalities on the bond strength of composite resins to glass-ionomer cements. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Conventional (KetacTM Molar Quick ApplicapTM) or resin-modified (PhotacTM Fil Quick AplicapTM) glass-ionomer cements were prepared. Two-step etch-rinse & bond adhesive (AdperTM Single Bo

22. Influence of Er,Cr: YSGG laser on bond strength of self-adhesive resin cement
The purpose of this study was to investigate the bond strength of fiber post previously laser treated root canals. Forty single-rooted bovine teeth were endodontically treated, randomly and equally divided into two main groups according to the type of pretreatment: G1: 2.5% NaOCl (control group); and G2: Er,Cr:YSGG laser. Each group was further subdivided in
