1. Filling of simulated lateral canals with gutta-percha or thermoplastic polymer by warm vertical compaction
The aim of this study was to evaluate the ability of gutta-percha and a thermoplastic synthetic polymer (Resilon) to fill simulated lateral canals, using warm vertical compaction. Forty-five single-rooted human teeth were prepared using the rotary crown-down technique. Artificial lateral canals were made at 2, 5, and 8 mm from the working length (WL) in each

2. Penetration of a resin-based filling material into lateral root canals and quality of obturation by different techniques
The aim of this study was to evaluate the penetration of a resin/polyester polymer-based material (Resilon Real Seal; SybronEndo Corp., Orange, USA) into simulated lateral canals, and the quality of obturations by different techniques. A total of 30 standardized simulated canals were divided into three groups according to the technique of obturation used: MS

3. Bond strength of a calcium silicate-based sealer tested in bulk or with different main core materials
The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of a calcium silicate-based sealer (iRoot SP), with or without a core material, on bond strength to radicular dentin, in comparison with various contemporary root filling systems. Root canals of freshly extracted single-rooted teeth (n = 60) were instrumented using rotary instruments. The roots were randoml

4. A microleakage study of gutta-percha/AH Plus and Resilon/Real self-etch systems after different irrigation protocols
The development and maintenance of the sealing of the root canal system is the key to the success of root canal treatment. The resin-based adhesive material has the potential to reduce the microleakage of the root canal because of its adhesive properties and penetration into dentinal walls. Moreover, the irrigation protocols may have an influence on the adhe

6. Fracture resistance of over-flared root canals filled with MTA and resin-based material: an in vitro study
AIM: To measure the fracture resistance of over-flared roots filled with a variety of materials (gutta-percha-nano HA, resilon-epiphany, composite and mineral trioxide aggregate - MTA) using the Instron machine test and micro-computed tomography (Micro CT) Scan. In addition, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images were used to illustrate the type of fractu

7. Adhesion of real seal to human root dentin treated with different solutions

8. Interfacial adaptation of an epoxy-resin sealer and a self-etch sealer to root canal dentin using the System B or the single cone technique

10. Avaliação da permeabilidade dentária de dentes submetidos à reintervenção endodôntica quando obturados com diferentes cimentos / Evaluation of the permeability of dental teeth underwent reintervention when filled with different endodontic cements
The purpose of this study was to evaluate ex vivo the permeability of root canal dentin walls after the removal of three different combinations of filling materials. To this end, 36 extracted human single-rooted premolars, with similar length and anatomy, had surgery access to the pulp chamber, root canal preparation was performed to F4 ProTaper instruments

11. Effectiveness of gutta-percha and Resilon in filling lateral root canals using the Obtura II system
The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of gutta-percha and Resilon in filling lateral root canals by using the Obtura II system. Root canals of artificial teeth were prepared using a standard protocol, and lateral canals were made in three thirds of the root canal. The root canals were filled with either Obtura gutta-percha (OB), Endo-points
