1. Design of high gain and wide band EBG resonator antenna with dual layers of same dielectric superstrate at X-bands
Abstract A wide band EBG resonator antenna with two layer of dielectric superstrates of the same material is design which is operating in X band. The EBG superstrates act as Partially Reflective Surfaces (PRS) having positive reflection phase curve which are suspended above a double sided dipole patch antenna fed by a coaxial cable pass through ground plane.

3. Disponibilidade da radiação fotossinteticamente ativa ao longo de colunas de cultivo vertical de morangueiros em função do espaçamento e superficie refletora / Availability of Photosynthetically active radiation alone the columns of vertical strawberry growth in function of spacing and reflective surface
The objective of this research was to increase the offer of Photosyntetically Active Radiation(PAR) trough vertical bags for strawberry production. To aim this objective two strategies were adopted the increase of distance among columns of the vertical bags and the use of reflective surfaces over the floor of the greenhouses under the bags. The distances use

4. Avaliação do desempenho térmico de vidros refletivos: estudo de caso em células - teste / Evaluation of the thermal performance of reflective glasses: study of case in test-cells
The glassed surfaces are so fragile concerning gain of heat, allowing the easy entrance of solar radiation in the interior of buildings. The proportion between glassed surfaces and opaque ones of a building is a decisive factor in the environment comfort, as the big glassed areas used without criterion are the principal responsible for the gain of heat in th

5. Construção e análise de desempenho de um fogão solar à concentração utilizando dois focos para cozimento direto
A model of a solar oven with a reflective surface composed of two mirror segments is presented, constituting a two semi-parabolic surfaces made of fiberglass, applied on a ceramic mold, intended to be used in residential and commercial cooking. The reflective surface of the semi-parable is obtained with the use of multiple plain segments of 2 mm wide mirrors

6. Caracterização otica em materiais transparentes e sua relação com o confortoambiental em edificação
In this work, the characterization and analysis of the solar radiation transmission through transparent materials appropriated for buildings façades is presented. Materials such as reflective sputtered glasses, polycarbonates and commercial polymeric films for solar control on float glass are studied. The electrocromic glass type, promissory new material un

7. Mirror self-recognition in the bottlenose dolphin: A case of cognitive convergence
The ability to recognize oneself in a mirror is an exceedingly rare capacity in the animal kingdom. To date, only humans and great apes have shown convincing evidence of mirror self-recognition. Two dolphins were exposed to reflective surfaces, and both demonstrated responses consistent with the use of the mirror to investigate marked parts of the body.

8. Classification of natural textures in echolocation
Through echolocation, a bat can perceive not only the position of an object in the dark; it can also recognize its 3D structure. A tree, however, is a very complex object; it has thousands of reflective surfaces that result in a chaotic acoustic image of the tree. Technically, the acoustic image of an object is its impulse response (IR), i.e., the sum of the
