1. Association between deep-water scale-worms (Annelida: Polynoidae) and black corals (Cnidaria: Antipatharia) in the Southwestern Atlantic
ABSTRACT Polynoid scale-worms have been found living as commensals with deep-water antipatharians (commonly known as black corals) in the Potiguar Basin, off Rio Grande do Norte State, Northeastern Brazil. In this paper two polychaete species and four black corals species are redescribed. Benhamipolynoe cf. antipathicola and Parahololepidella cf. greeffi, an

2. First record of the genus Anuropodione Bourdon, 1967 (Crustacea: Isopoda: Bopyridae) from the South Atlantic
Abstract The family Bopyridae Rafinesque, 1815 is comprised of parasitic isopods with a life cycle involving an intermediate host (copepod) and a definitive host (decapod crustacean). The genus Anuropodione Bourdon, 1967 occurs in all oceans and encompasses five species that are only known as parasites of squat lobsters belonging to the genus Munida Leach, 1

3. Ichthyofauna of Trairí river basin, Rio Grande do Norte state, northeastern Brazil: a century after the study of the naturalist Edwin Starks in the Papari lagoon
Abstract Fishes from the coastal basins of the Mid-Northeastern Caatinga ecoregion (MNCE) were first sampled by the Stanford expedition at the beginning of the 20th century, and published by Edwin C. Starks in 1913. This material included specimens from the Papary lake (= Papari lagoon) in the lower portion of the Trairí river basin, draining towards the ea

4. CORRELAÇÕES GEOQUÍMICAS ENTRE AMOSTRAS DE PETRÓLEO DA BACIA POTIGUAR E DEFINIÇÃO DE SUAS POSSÍVEIS ROCHAS GERADORAS
Eight petroleum samples from Potiguar Basin were submitted for determination of saturated biomarkers by gas chromatography (fingerprint), liquid chromatography (saturates, aromatics, resins and asphaltenes), gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), nickel and vanadium by high resolution continuum source graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (H

5. New records and bathymetric distribution of deep-sea shrimps of the family Glyphocrangonidae (Decapoda: Caridea) from the Potiguar Basin, northeastern Brazil
Abstract The caridean family Glyphocrangonidae Smith, 1884 is monotypic, including only the genus Glyphocrangon A. Milne-Edwards, 1881. The species of this genus are exclusively inhabitants of deep sea. The current contribution aims to enrich the knowledge of Glyphocrangon in the southwestern Atlantic, by reporting its occurrence and bathymetric distribution

6. First record of Euchirograpsus americanus A. Milne-Edwards, 1880 (Crustacea: Decapoda: Plagusiidae) from northeastern Brazil
Abstract The crab Euchirograpsus americanus A. Milne-Edwards, 1880 (Plagusiidae) has so far only been recorded in Brazil in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Here we report its first occurrence from northeastern Brazil, from the Potiguar Basin in the state of Rio Grande do Norte.

7. Primitive decapods from the deep sea: first record of blind lobsters (Crustacea: Decapoda: Polychelidae) in northeastern Brazil
ABSTRACT We report herein the occurrence of the infraorder Polychelida in Potiguar Basin, northeastern Brazil. Specimens were collected by the project "Avaliação da Biota Bentônica e Planctônica na porção offshore das Bacias Potiguar e Ceará", developed by the Brazilian Oil Company (PETROBRAS). Three species were recorded for the first time in this re

8. Estudo qualitativo e quantitativo de biomarcadores ácidos e hidrocarbonetos presentes em óleos da Bacia Potiguar / Qualitative and quantitative study of acidic and hydrocarbon biomarkers of oil from the Potiguar Basin

A composição química dessa água é complexa e depende fortemente do campo gerad

Bioemulsifiers or biosurfactants are compounds produced by microorganisms which enhance the bioavailability of hydrophobic substances promoting the stabilization of substances with different polarities, like oil-in-water emulsion occurring in petroleum reservoirs. The samples used in this work were collected in the Potiguar Basin (RN, Brazil), and employed a
