1. Study About Buckling Phenomenon in Perforated Thin Steel Plates Employing Computational Modeling and Constructal Design Method
Abstract Perforated steel thin plates are commonly used in structural engineering. Due to their geometric characteristics, these panels can suffer the undesired buckling phenomenon. In this context, the present work associates the computational modeling and the constructal design method to evaluate the influence of the geometric configuration in the plate bu

2. Low-intensity laser phototherapy enhances the proliferation of dental pulp stem cells under nutritional deficiency
Abstract Dental trauma in immature permanent teeth can damage pulp vascularization, which leads to necrosis and cessation of apexogenesis. Studies on tissue engineering using stem cells from human exfoliated deciduous teeth (SHEDs) have yielded promising results. Laser phototherapy (LPT) is able to influence the proliferation and differentiation of these cel

3. Structural analyses of reinforced tubular T-joints
Abstract The use of rolled hollow sections has been substantially boosted mainly due to the advantages associated with structural behavior and aesthetics, leading to an intense use in Europe, Southeast Asia, North America, Australia, and now, in Brazil due to the wider supply of these profiles. Therefore, it is important to investigate the structural behavio

4. Flow behavior of unsteady incompressible Newtonian fluid flow between two parallel plates via homotopy analysis method
Abstract An analysis has been performed to study the problem of the flow of incompressible Newtonian fluid between two parallel plates where the upper plate is impermeable and can move up or down and the lower one is fixed and has a porous surface. The governing equations for this problem are reduced to an ordinary form and is solved using Homotopy Analysis

5. A Differential Quadrature Procedure with Regularization of the Dirac-delta Function for Numerical Solution of Moving Load Problem
AbstractThe differential quadrature method (DQM) is one of the most elegant and efficient methods for the numerical solution of partial differential equations arising in engineering and applied sciences. It is simple to use and also straightforward to implement. However, the DQM is well-known to have some difficulty when applied to partial differential equat

6. Finite element model based on refined plate theories for laminated glass units
AbstractLaminated glass units exhibit complex response as a result of different mechanical behavior and properties of glass and polymer foil. We aim to develop a finite element model for elastic laminated glass plates based on the refined plate theory by Mau. For a geometrically nonlinear description of the behavior of units, each layer behaves according to

7. bFGF promotes adipocyte differentiation in human mesenchymal stem cells derived from embryonic stem cells
In this work we describe the establishment of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) derived from embryonic stem cells (ESCs) and the role of bFGF in adipocyte differentiation. The totipotency of ESCs and MSCs was assessed by immunofluorescence staining and RT-PCR of totipotency factors. MSCs were successfully used to induce osteoblasts, chondrocytes and adipocytes.

10. Finite element reduction strategy for composite sandwich plates with viscoelastic layers
Composite materials have been regarded as a convenient strategy in various types of engineering systems such as aeronautical and space structures, as well as architecture and light industry products due to their advantages over the traditional engineering materials, such as their high strength/stiffness relation characteristics and their anti-corrosion prope

As integr
