1. Biodegradable oil-based polymeric coatings on urea fertilizer: N release kinetic transformations of urea in soil
ABSTRACT: Polymer coatings are used to control the rate of release of plant available nutrients from fertilizers as well as to reduce nutrient losses such as ammonia (NH3) volatilization. Although the literature presents several examples of materials used to coat urea, little is known about nitrogen (N) release properties such as the mechanism involved and p

2. Physiological characteristics of citrus plants infested with citrus blackfly
Abstract Aleurocanthus woglumi (Ashby, 1915) is an important agricultural pest that causes yield losses of 20-80% in citrus plants by removing plant nutrients while feeding and allowing the formation of sooty mold. The objective of this study was to evaluate physiological changes in citrus plants in response to A. woglumi infestation under field conditions.

3. Mass balances of major solutes, nutrients and particulate matter as water moves through the floodplains of the Pantanal (Paraguay River, Brazil)

4. Losses of soil, water, organic carbon and nutrients caused by water erosion in different crops and natural savannah in the northern Amazon

5. Water Erosion in Oxisols under Coffee Cultivation
ABSTRACT Water erosion is one of the main environmental impacts of land use. When soil and water losses occur, nutrients essential for the growth and maintenance of plants are removed, with harmful outcomes on the sustainability of agriculture and the environment. In addition, they lead to other deleterious effects, such as sedimentation and eutrophication o

6. PERFORMANCE OF TIFTON 85 GRASS UNDER FERTIRRIGATION WITH SLAUGHTERHOUSE WASTEWATER
ABSTRACT: The aim of this study was to evaluate the performance of Tifton 85 grass cultivated in soil columns and fertilized with different wastewater doses of swine slaughterhouse. The experiment was conducted in the Environmental Engineering Center and Sanitary of UFLA/MG in PVC columns filled with Dark Red Latosol (Oxisol) and randomly distributed. The tr

7. Fallow Reduces Soil Losses and Increases Carbon Stock in Caatinga
ABSTRACT This study aimed at evaluating whether 10 years of fallow was sufficient to restore a degraded hillslope in the semi-arid Caatinga biome, Brazil. For this purpose, runoff, erosion, loss of nutrients and organic carbon were measured on two comparable hillslopes: one was left fallow and the other degraded caused by overgrazing. Fallow management reduc

8. Nutrient and Organic Carbon Losses, Enrichment Rate, and Cost of Water Erosion
ABSTRACT Soil erosion from water causes loss of nutrients and organic carbon, enriches the environment outside the erosion site, and results in costs. The no-tillage system generates increased nutrient and C content in the topsoil and, although it controls erosion, it can produce a more enriched runoff than in the conventional tillage system. This study was

9. CLAY AND PHOSPHORUS LOSSES BY EROSION IN OXISOL WITH SUGARCANE RESIDUES
ABSTRACT Considering the importance of nutrients in the soil for the plants development and the soil quality conservation and the quantification relevance of them for proper soil management, the aims of this research were: (i) to quantify the clay loss, adsorbed and soluble P from interrill erosion influenced by the presence of sugarcane residues on the grou

10. Effects of ensiling density on nutritive value of maize and sorghum silages
ABSTRACT Studies were conducted to determine the effects of different ensiling densities on fermentation, aerobic stability, and nutritive value of maize and sorghum silages. Maize and sorghum were harvested at dough (363 g/kg) and milk stages (275 g/kg), respectively. Herbages were chopped approximately 1.5 cm after harvest and then ensiled in mini silos at

11. Diseño y alternativas en la instalación de inyectores Venturi en riego localizado1
The performance and installation alternatives of four Venturi injector prototypes were studied at Universitat Politècnica de València, Valencia, Spain (39°29' N; 0°23' W; 20 m). This device performance was studied under several parameters such as head loss, relation of flows and injection efficiency. The installation configurations analyzed were: without
