1. Characterization of Li2O-Al2O3-SiO2 glass-ceramics produced from a Brazilian spodumene concentrate

2. Microstructural Evolution Due to One Thermal Cycle in a Superduplex Stainless Steel ASTM A890/A890M - Grade 6A in the As-Weld and Post-Weld Heat Treatment Conditions
During welding of the superduplex stainless steels are exposed to thermal cycles, allowing precipitation of deleterious phases as well as unbalance as the ferrite and austenite phases. This work analyzed the microstructural changes taking place on a plate ASTM A890/A890M - grade 6A steel submitted to arc welding one welding of pass conducted on a flat surfac

4. Characterization of Phase Transformations and Microstructural Changes in an API 5CT L80 Steel Grade During Ni Alloy Laser Cladding
The superficial coatings in micro-alloyed steel pipes has been a pointed way to decrease the corrosion problems in oil and gas industry. However, little emphasis has been given to the substrate. The effects of the deposition method on the steel microstructure and properties are still not well described. In this context, this work studied the effect of Ni sup

5. Evolution of Microstructure in Al-Si-Cu System Modified with a Transition Element Addition and its Effect on Hardness
The effect of Ni 1-2 wt.% addition on the microstructure and hardness of the aged A319 alloy were studied. Characterization analyses by x-ray diffraction, optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy suggest clearly that Ni addition forms Al-Ni-Cu-Fe, Al-Cu-Ni and Al-Ni intermetallic compounds that correlates well with equilibria conditions. Analyses

6. Influence of Hydrogenation on Residual Stresses of Pipeline Steel Welded Joints
Hydrogen embrittlement is a phenomenon that affects the performance of steel used for oil and gas pipelines. This paper presents a study of the effect of hydrogenation on the residual stresses of an API 5L X65 steel pipe. Residual stresses were analyzed by X-ray diffraction technique using the sin2Ψ method. The hydrogenation of base metal and welded joint s

7. Iron Doped-ZrSiO4: Structural, Microstructural and Vibrational Characterization
Fex-ZrSiO4 is known for the applications in the ceramic industry such as ceramic pigment. In this article, we focus our attention to the structural, microstructural and vibrational changes of Fex-ZrSiO4 from free-mineralizer precursors, treated at different temperatures in the range of 1100-1600 °C. The refinements of X-ray diffraction patterns show that Fe

8. Influence of UV Radiation on the Physical-chemical and Mechanical Properties of Banana Fiber
Surface treatments done in banana fibers (BFs) can generate significant superficial structural changes enabling the production of mechanically stronger composites. In this way, the objective of this study was to evaluate the physicochemical and mechanical properties of banana fibers of Prata specie from inner and outer leaf sheaths, when irradiated with UV l

9. Microstructural and Micromechanical Effects of Cold Roll-forming on High Strength Dual Phase Steels
In this work correlation between the 1000 MPa dual phase (DP) steel microstructure and the strain gained after roll-forming process have been studied by both microstructural and micromechanical analysis. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) inspection in the bent area reveals changes in the ferrite-martensitic microstructure. The plastic deformation of DP

10. ECAE processed NiTi shape memory alloy
The current work evaluated the microstructures and martensitic transformation temperatures of NiTi shape memory alloy (SMA) deformed by equal channel angular extrusion (ECAE). The Ti-55.27wt.%Ni alloy was processed by 1 ECAE pass at 250 °C using a die with an intersection angle of 120°. After processing, samples were annealed at 300 °C, 400 °C and 500 °

11. Microstructural changes and effect of variation of lattice strain on positron annihilation lifetime parameters of zinc ferrite nanocomposites prepared by high enegy ball-milling
Zn-ferrite nanoparticles were synthesized at room temperature by mechanical alloying the stoichiometric (1:1 mol%) mixture of ZnO and α-Fe2O3 powder under open air. Formation of both normal and inverse spinel ferrite phases was noticed after 30 minutes and 2.5 hours ball milling respectively and the content of inverse spinel phase increased with increasing
