1. Anti-Leptospira spp. antibodies in meat dealers in Tunja, Boyacá, Colombia

2. Diagnosis of canine leptospirosis: evaluation of two PCR assays in comparison with the microagglutination test

3. COMPARISON OF 16S rRNA-PCR-RFLP, LipL32-PCR AND OmpL1-PCR METHODS IN THE DIAGNOSIS OF LEPTOSPIROSIS
SUMMARY Leptospirosis is still one of the most important health problems in developing countries located in humid tropical and subtropical regions. Human infections are generally caused by exposure to water, soil or food contaminated with the urine of infected wild and domestic animals such as rodents and dogs. The clinical course of leptospirosis is variab

4. A ten-year follow-up of human leptospirosis in Uruguay: an unresolved health problem
Leptospira spp. are delicate bacteria that cannot be studied by usual microbiological methods. They cause leptospirosis, a zoonotic disease transmitted to humans through infected urine of wild or domestic animals. We studied the incidence of this disease in the Uruguayan population, its epidemiologic and clinical features, and compared diagnostic techniques.

5. PREVALÊNCIA DE ANTICORPOS ANTI-Leptospira spp. E ASPECTOS EPIDEMIOLÓGICOS DA INFECÇÃO EM BOVINOS DO ESTADO DE GOIÁS / Prevalence of antibodies anti-leptospira spp epidemiologic aspects of the infeccion of castle in Goias State
The state of Goias has the third largest cattle herd in Brazil, but the production has some obstacles, such as reproductive diseases, which cause abortions and infertility, including leptospirosis, also important in public health. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of antibodies against Leptospira spp., determine their regional distribution and eva

Canine leptospirosis: e etiological, serological and molecular diagnosis and evaluation of cross-protection between sevorars icterohaemorrhagiae and copenhageni / Leptospirose canina: diagnóstico etiológico, sorológico e molecular e avaliação da proteção cruzada entre os sorovares icterohaemorrhagiae e copenhageni
A research on agglutinating antibodies (AAc) anti-leptospira has been performed, through microscopic agglutination test (MAT) and attempts of isolation of the etiologic agent in 29 dogs with clinical suspicious of leptospirosis. There was also made a research of Leptospira spp.´s genetic material, using polimerase chain reaction (PCR) in 24 urine samples of

8. Prevalence of antibodies anti-leptopsira spp. and epidemiologic apsects of the infection of cattle in Goias State / Prevalência de anticorpos anti-Leptospira spp. e aspectos epidemiológicos da infecção em bovinos do estado de Goiás

9. Leptospirose bovina: prevalencia, variáveis de risco e sorovares predominantes em rebanhos de Mato Grosso do Sul, Brasil / Bovine leptospirosis: prevalence, risk variables, and predominat serovars in herds in Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil
The prevalence of anti-Leptospira sp. antibodies was investigated in female cattle aged 24 months and older from 178 herds in 22 counties in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. A total of 2,573 blood serum samples were tested against 10 leptospira serovars using the microagglutination test (MAT). Titers of 100 or higher for one or more serovars were det

10. Microagglutination test for early and specific serodiagnosis of tularemia.
A microagglutination test with safranin-stained Francisella tularensis antigen was compared with a conventional tube agglutination test for the serodiagnosis of tularemia. The microagglutination test was performed in round-bottom microtiter plates by using 0.025 ml of the antisera and of the antigen. The antibody titers obtained by using the microagglutinati

11. Safranin O-stained antigen microagglutination test for detection of brucella antibodies.
A microagglutination test was compared with a standard tube agglutination test for the detection of brucella antibodies. Advantages of the microagglutination test were that it required less time to perform, had a shorter incubation period, and used less antigen.

12. A rapid microagglutination test for the diagnosis of Legionella pneumophila (serogroup 1) infection
A rapid microagglutination test has been developed which can be performed in 30 minutes. Ninety-seven percent of 96 patients diagnosed as having Legionella pneumophila (serogroup 1) infection by indirect immunofluorescence were also detected by the rapid microagglutination test.
