1. Prevalence of metallo-β-lactamase-encoding genes among carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains isolated from burn patients in Iran
Abstract Carbapenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa (CRPA) has been considered a major cause of infection and mortality in burn patients, especially in developing countries such as Iran. One of the most common mechanisms of carbapenem resistance is production of metallo-β-lactamases [(MBLs), including Verona Integron-encoded Metallo-beta-lactamase (VIM), i

2. Prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility of non-fermenting Gram-negative bacilli isolated from clinical samples at a tertiary care hospital
Abstract INTRODUCTION: We compared the prevalence and antimicrobial susceptibility of non-fermenting gram-negative bacilli (NFGNB) isolated from clinical samples at a Brazilian tertiary care hospital in 2008 and 2013. METHODS: Collected data included patient’s name, age, sex, inpatient unit, laboratory record number, type of biological material, cultur

3. Identification of São Paulo metallo-beta-lactamase-1-producing Pseudomonas aeruginosa in the Central-West region of Brazil: a case study
Abstract: Metallo-beta-lactamase production is an important mechanism for carbapenem resistance of Pseudomonas aeruginosa , which represents an emerging public health challenge. We report the case of a patient admitted to an intensive care unit, with sepsis caused by multidrug-resistant São Paulo Metallo-beta-lactamase-1-producing P. aeruginosa . This is th

4. New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase-1-producing Acinetobacter spp. infection: report of a survivor
Abstract: New Delhi metallo-beta-lactamase-1 (NDM-1) is a bacterial enzyme that renders the bacteria resistant to a variety of beta-lactam antibiotics. A 20-year-old man was hospitalized several times for surgical treatment and complications caused by a right-sided vestibular schwannoma. Although the patient acquired several multidrug-resistant infections, t

5. Detection of multi drug resistant bacteria in major hospitals in Kano, North-West, Nigeria
Two major hospitals in Kano, North West Nigeria have recorded increasing resistance of clinical pathogens to broad spectrum β lactams, mediated by extended spectrum β- lactamase (ESβL) and non ESBLs. A study was therefore undertaken to determine the occurrence and prevalence of plasmid and chromosomal mediated AmpC βL and carbapenemase in addition to alr

6. YouTube as a source of information for New Delhi Metallo-β-lactamase-1 superbug gene

7. Detection of extended spectrum beta lactamases, ampc beta lactamases and metallobetalactamases in clinical isolates of ceftazidime resistant Pseudomonas Aeruginosa
We studied the prevalence of ceftazidime resistance in Pseudomonas aeruginosa and the rates of extended-spectrum β-lactamase (ESBL), AmpC β-lactamase (AmpC) and metallo-β-lactamase (MBL) production among the ceftazidime resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa. A very high rate of MBL production was observed, which suggested it to be an important contributing fac

8. Ocorrência de cepas de Pseudomonas aeroginosa multirresistentes produtoras de metalo-beta-lactamase bla SPM-1 em amosytras clinicas = Occurence of multiresistant strains of Pseudomonas aeroginosa producing metallo-beta-lactamase bla SPM-1 in clinical samples / Occurence of multiresistant strains of Pseudomonas aeroginosa producing metallo-beta-lactamase bla SPM-1 in clinical samples

9. Ocurrence of bla spm-1 and bla imp-1 genes of metallo-B-lactamases in clinical isolates of pseudomonas aeruginosa from three universitary hospitals in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil
We described the ocurrence of metallo-β-lactamases (MBL) genes blaSPM-1 and blaIMP-1 in clinical isolates of Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant to imipenem and/or ceftazidime obtained from three universitary hospitals in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The MBL production was screened by phenotypic test and the genes were detected by PCR.

10. Metallo-beta-lactamases among imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa in a Brazilian university hospital
INTRODUCTION: Imipenem-resistant Pseudomonas aeruginosa resulting from metallo-β-lactamases has been reported to be an important cause of nosocomial infection and is a critical therapeutic problem worldwide, especially in the case of bacteremia. 11. Estudo comparativo de fatores de virulência em isolados clínicos de Pseudomonas aeruginosa produtores e não produtores de metalo- ß-lactamase SPM-1
The invasion abilities, colonization and tissue damage presented by P. aeruginosa are due to the multiples virulence factors produced by the microorganism during the pathogenesis. Clinical isolates of SPM-1 metallo-β-lactamase Pseudomonas aeruginosa (SPM-1 MβL) from nosocomial infections present high rates morbidity and mortality and represent epid

12. Detecção de metalo beta lactamase em Pseudomonas aeruginosa isoladas de pacientes hospitalizados / Dection of metal-beta-lactamase in Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from patients hospitalized
