1. Characterization of Sobradinho landslide in fluvial valley using MASW and ERT methods
Abstract Landslides can substantially impact the fluvial systems, which is why the continuous mapping of their extent, evolution and stability assessment is crucial. However, in such environments, material identification (e.g. colluvium) and subsurface characterization by the methods used for geologic mapping and geotechnical investigation is often a challen

2. ENERGY PERFORMANCE IN DISC HARROWING OPERATION IN DIFFERENT GRADIENTS AND GAUGES
ABSTRACT The operational performance of the agricultural tractor can be increased by adjusting parameters such as tire inflation pressure, axle mass distribution and gauge opening, which is a very divergent factor in controlled-traffic production. The objective of the experiment was to measure the energy performance of a 93 kW agricultural tractor in interme

4. Área suscetíveis à movimento de massa, riscos ambientais e à população : o caso do gasoduto Bolívia-Brasil no estado do Rio Grande do Sul

5. Characterization of gas-liquid parameters in a down-flow jet loop bubble column
In order to characterize the gas-liquid parameters of a down-flow jet loop reactor, experiments were carried out to study the gas holdup, bubble sizes and their distribution, mass transfer area and mass transfer coefficient. The experiments were performed in the bubbly flow regime because of its stability and uniformity. Analysis of experimental data showed

6. Analysis of landslides susceptibility and use and landcover evolution of Paraty City - RJ / Análise da suscetibilidade a escorregamentos e as implicações da evolução do uso e cobertura do solo no município de Paraty, RJ
The city of Paraty is located between the Angra dos Reis and Ubatuba municipalities, stages of a numerous episodes of landslides. As the neighboring cities is marked by the presence of the Serra do Mar, where the shallow landslides in the form of translational movements account for most of the evolution of relief. And yet, there is no reference to deaths ass

The main objective of this work was to propose a reference specimen for the push-out test of rod-type fasteners in timber-concrete connections. The following experimental tests have been performed in order to achieve the goals of this research: pull-out tests of bonded-in steel rods in wood specimens, pull-out tests of bonded-in steel rods in concrete specim

Turbulent through flow between two finite parallel co-rotating disks is investigated numerically. For this finite geometry the solutions were developed to a steady, isothermal and incompressible flow. The flow field is modeled using the averaged Navier Stokes equation and the mass conservation equation. The Reynolds stress are determined using the two turbul

10. APLICAÇÃO DO MÉTODO DOS ELEMENTOS FINITOS NA ANÁLISE DA ESTABILIDADE DE TALUDES EM SOLO / APPLICATION OF THE FINITE ELEMENT METHOD FOR SOIL SLOPE STABILITY ANALYSES / APLICACIÓN DEL MÉTODO DE ELEMENTOS FINITOS EN EL ANÁLISIS DE ESTABILIDAD DE TALUDES EN EL SUELO
The main objective of this research is the application of the finite element method (FEM) to analyze the stability of soil slopes, searching the position of the failure slip surface in the soil mass and its corresponding safety factor. The finite element method has become a popular tool for the study of many geotechnical engineering problems but, in the spec

11. Clinical experience with cytomegalovirus isolation using conventional cell cultures and early antigen detection in centrifugation-enhanced shell vial cultures.
A total of 1,915 clinical samples was inoculated by low-speed centrifugation into shell vials (Bartels Immunodiagnostics, Bellvue, Wash.) containing cover slip monolayers of MRC-5 fibroblasts. At 1 and 2 days postinoculation, one cover slip was stained by an indirect immunofluorescence technique using a monoclonal antibody (Biotech Research Laboratories for
