2. Combretastatin A-4: The Antitubulin Agent that Inspired the Design and Synthesis of Styrene and Spiroisatin Hybrids as Promising Cytotoxic, Antifungal and Antiviral Compounds
The design of a series of styrene and spiroisatin hybrids was based on the structure of combretastatin A-4 1. This library of 20 compounds were synthesized with the pharmacophoric units: 3,4,5-trimethoxy or/and 4-hydroxy-3-methoxy phenyl moities in their structure. Thereby, the libraries of β-nitrostyrenes 10a-10c, spiroisatin-dihydroquinolines 14a-14c, spi

3. Potential role of dengue virus, chikungunya virus and Zika virus in neurological diseases
This study showed that laboratory markers of recent infection by dengue, Zika or chikungunya arboviruses were detected in the biological samples of approximately one-third of patients with encephalitis, myelitis, encephalomyelitis or Guillain-Barré syndrome, in a surveillance programme in Piauí state, Brazil, between 2015-2016. Fever and myalgia had been a

4. Sequence analysis of the 5′ third of glycoprotein C gene of South American bovine herpesviruses 1 and 5
Bovine herpesviruses 1 (BoHV-1) and 5 (BoHV-5) share high genetic and antigenic similarities, but exhibit marked differences in tissue tropism and neurovirulence. The amino-terminal region of glycoprotein C (gC), which is markedly different in each of the viruses, is involved in virus binding to cellular receptors and in interactions with the immune system.

5. Antiviral activity of a Bacillus sp: P34 peptide against pathogenic viruses of domestic animals
P34 is an antimicrobial peptide produced by a Bacillus sp. strain isolated from the intestinal contents of a fish in the Brazilian Amazon basin with reported antibacterial activity. The aim of this work was to evaluate the peptide P34 for its in vitro antiviral properties against canine adenovirus type 2 (CAV-2), canine coronavirus (CCoV), canine distemper v

6. Infecções herpéticas em pacientes oncológicos pediátricos com episódios de febre = : Herpesviruses infectious in pediatric oncology patients with episodes of fever / Herpesviruses infectious in pediatric oncology patients with episodes of fever

8. Analysis of isotype-specific antibody responses to bovine herpesviruses 1.1 and 1.2a allows to estimate the stage of infection
Specific IgM, IgA, IgG1, IgG2, as well as neutralizing antibody responses were evaluated in sera of calves experimentally infected with two isolates of bovine herpesvirus type 1 (BoHV1) of distinct subtypes (subtype 1, BoHV1.1; subtype 2a, BoHV-1.2a). No significant differences were observed in the antibody responses induced by each BoHV-1 subtype. The antib
