6. New Technique for Biotyping
An efficient technique for biotyping, using disposable trays instead of glass tubes and agar instead of liquid media, is described.

7. Escherichia coli O Antigen Typing by Means of a Mechanized Microtechnique
A mechanized microtechnique for the serological typing of Escherichia coli cultures is described.

8. Resistance Transfer to the Resident Intestinal Escherichia coli of Rats
The transfer of resistance factors from introduced donor cells to the resident intestinal Escherichia coli flora of conventional rats was tested.

9. Bacteriophage Typing of Salmonella typhimurium by Use of a Mechanized Technique
A new mechanized technique for the application of drops of phages on agar plates is described. Drops of equal size are delivered by needles with the aid of filtered pressurized air. The part of the device which is in contact with phage is interchangeable as a whole.

10. Improved minca medium for the detection of K99 antigen in calf enterotoxigenic strains of Escherichia coli.
The K99 antigen of Escherichia coli can be detected more readily in cultures grown on Minca medium at 37 degrees C for 6 to 8 h or grown on Minca plus 1% Iso VitaleX for 20 to 24 h.

11. Escherichia coli with Resistance Factors in Vegetarians, Babies, and Nonvegetarians
The prevalence of Escherichia coli carrying resistance factors (R factors) was examined in meat-consuming individuals and in those not consuming meat (vegetarians and babies below the age of 6 months). Assuming that the transport of resistant E. coli from animals through meat and meat products to the human consumer is most important, with regard to the incid

12. Detection of the K99 antigen by means of agglutination and immunoelectrophoresis in Escherichia coli isolates from calves and its correlation with entertoxigenicity.
The common antigen of calf enterotoxigenic strains of Escherichia coli, recently established as the K99 antigen, was studied by means of the slide agglutination test and immunoelectrophoresis. Specific antisera were obtained by absorption of crude antisera with ultrasonicates of autologous cells grown at 18C or by injection into rabbits of the purifies K99 a
