1. COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF LATE RESULTS OF CERVICAL ESOPHAGOGASTRIC ANASTOMOSIS BY MANUAL AND MECHANICAL SUTURE IN PATIENTS SUBMITTED TO ESOPHAGEAL MUCOSECTOMY THROUGH ADVANCED MEGAESOPHAGUS

2. Síndrome de Boerhaave: relato de caso
Spontaneous esophageal rupture carries high morbidity and mortality. The main prognostic factor is early diagnosis, before 12 hours, and appropriate treatment. This is a case report of a 41-years-old man with late esophageal rupture diagnosis treated successfully with transmediatinal esophagectomy and esophageal-gastric tube cervical anastomosis.

Partial thoracic esophagectomy in the treatment of leiomyoma in the lower esophagealsphincter of dogs

BACKGROUND: A new procedure for the treatment of esophageal fistula, mainly associated to the ebb esophagojejunal in patients submitted to the total gastrectomy and reconstruction with loop jejunal Rouxen-Y anastomosis is present. METHODS: The method is based in the use of "probe standard enteral prolongated with drain to laminate adapted in extremity", whic

8. Comparison of hand-sewn and stapled esophagogastric anastomosis after esophageal resection for cancer: a prospective randomized controlled trial.
OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to compare the hand-sewn and stapled methods in esophagogastric anastomosis. SUMMARY BACKGROUND DATA: After esophageal resection for cancer, the relative merits of the hand-sewn and the stapled methods of esophagogastric anastomosis, especially regarding leakage and stricture rates, have not adequately been studied.

9. Development of a true primary repair for the full spectrum of esophageal atresia.
OBJECTIVE: To determine whether or not a true primary repair, without myotomies and with the gastroesophageal junction below the diaphragm, can be accomplished across the esophageal atresia (EA) spectrum. Our hypothesis is that the esophageal anastomosis can withstand significant tension. The consequences, particularly for those patients with a very long gap

11. Gastric functions in patients with the intrathoracic stomach after esophageal surgery.
Functions of the stomach placed in the posterior mediastinum after esophagectomy were studied in 20 esophageal carcinoma patients. Seven were long-term survivors who lived more than 5 years after operation, and five of them showed normal fasting serum gastrin levels and good or fair gastric acid secretion. Of 13 patients who had their operations within 3 yea

12. Esophageal replacement with colon interposition in children.
During a 21-year period, 39 colon interposition operations were performed on 37 children at the UCLA Medical Center and the Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. The average age at the time of operation was 5.8 years. The indications for operation were esophageal atresia in 23 patients and other benign strictures in 14 patients. The duration of patient follow-u
