25. Proteomic analysis of the inhibitory effect of chitosan on Penicillium expansum
Abstract The antimicrobial effect of chitosan on Penicillium expansum, a major postharvest pathogen of pome fruit, and the possible mechanisms involved in its effect were examined in this study. Chitosan strongly inhibited spore germination and hyphal growth of P. expansum. Light microscopy and transmission electron microscopy observations revealed that chit

26. THE INFLUENCE OF ACE I/D GENE POLYMORPHISM IN AMATEUR AMERICAN FOOTBALL ATHLETES IN BRAZIL

27. Does the Glyphosate Treatment Interfere Negatively on RNA Integrity in Glyphosate-Resistant and -Sensitive Conyza bonariensis?

29. Carrier frequency of autosomal recessive disorders (BC, BLAD, FXID and CVM) in Holstein cows in Jalisco, Mexico
ABSTRACT: The hereditary autosomal recessive disorders bovine citrullinemia (BC), bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency (BLAD), factor XI deficiency (FXID), and complex vertebral malformation (CVM) have affected dairy cattle breeding significantly around the world. This study examined the carrier frequency of BC, BLAD, FXID, and CVM autosomal recessive disord

30. Development of a generic method for the determination of proton-pump inhibitors by capillary zoneelectrophoresis
A generic capillary zone electrophoresis method was developed for the analysis of four proton pump inhibitors: omeprazole, pantoprazole, lansoprazole and rabeprazole. During preliminary analysis screening of phosphate buffers at different pH levels was performed, in order to determine the optimum pH domain suitable for the simultaneous determination of all s

31. POTENTIAL OF AUTOCHTHONOUS SULFATE-REDUCING MICROBIAL COMMUNITIES FOR TREATING ACID MINE DRAINAGE IN A BENCH-SCALE SULFIDOGENIC REACTOR
Abstract Biological acid mine drainage treatment depends significantly on inoculum origin, pH, COD/sulfate ratio, and carbon source. In this study, the performance and microbial diversity of anaerobic batch reactors used for sulfate reduction was evaluated. A medium COD/sulfate ratio of 1.14 ± 0.10 was used, and the evaluation was performed in two steps: Ph

32. Meloidogyne Species Associated with Weeds in Rio Grande do Sul

33. Molecular Diagnostics of Dengue by Reverse Transcription-Loop Mediated Isothermal Amplification (RT-LAMP) in Disposable Polyester-Toner Microdevices
Dengue is one of the most prevalent infectious tropical diseases in the world, with high incidence in over 100 countries. Rapid and reliable diagnosis of dengue is of great importance for public health. To simplify molecular diagnostics, isothermal amplification techniques have recently emerged as an alternative to conventional methods of deoxyribonucleic ac

34. High rate of detection of OXA-23-producing Acinetobacter from two general hospitals in Brazil
Abstract INTRODUCTION In recent decades, the prevalence of carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter isolates has increased, and the production of oxacillinase (OXA)-type carbapenemases is the main mechanism underlying resistance. We evaluated OXA production from 114 Acinetobacter isolates collected between March and December 2013 from different clinical specimen

35. Supplanting resistance of the Mi gene by root-knot nematode in industrial tomato in the Cerrado in Goiás State of Brazil

36. A new, harmless, high-throughput endosperm-based DNA extraction method for wheat
