25. Gene Conversion of Major Histocompatibility Complex Genes in the Mouse Spermatogenesis is a Premeiotic Event
The molecular genetic mechanism of gene conversion in higher eukaryotes remains unknown. We find it of considerable interest to determine when during spermatogenesis gene conversion occurs. We have therefore purified pachytene spermatocytes and haploid spermatocytes from adult mice and analyzed these fractions for the presence of gene conversion products res

26. Phosphatidylinositol 3- and 4-Phosphate Are Required for Normal Stomatal Movements
Phosphatidylinositol (PI) metabolism plays a central role in signaling pathways in both animals and higher plants. Stomatal guard cells have been reported to contain PI 3-phosphate (PI3P) and PI 4-phosphate (PI4P), the products of PI 3-kinase (PI3K) and PI 4-kinase (PI4K) activities. In this study, we tested the roles of PI3P and PI4P in stomatal movements.

27. Extending the classification of bacterial transcription factors beyond the helix–turn–helix motif as an alternative approach to discover new cis/trans relationships
Transcription factors (TFs) of bacterial helix–turn–helix superfamilies exhibit different effector-binding domains (EBDs) fused to a DNA-binding domain with a common feature. In a previous study of the GntR superfamily, we demonstrated that classifying members into subfamilies according to the EBD heterogeneity highlighted unsuspected and accurate TF-bin
