Adults of Tabanidae may become serious pests wherever they occur due to their attack to humans and others animals. Tabanids were captured near ground, water surface and at 25 m high on primary forests and forest gaps of anthropogenic origin, to understand their abundance, seasonality, diversity and similarity on such environments. Collections were carried ou

3. Electrical and morphological properties of low resistivity Mo thin films prepared by magnetron sputtering
Mo thin films have been deposited using a DC magnetron sputtering system with an S-gun configuration electrode and characterized electrically and morphologically. The influence of the sputtering gas pressure and glow discharge (GD) power, on the electrical resistivity of Mo thin films and on the contact resistivity of Mo to Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) films was dete

4. Phase identification and AES depth profile analysis of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 thin films
This work presents results related with phase identification and study of the homogeneity in the chemical composition of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin films grown by a chemical reaction of the precursor species evaporated sequentially on a soda-lime glass substrate, in a two or three-stage process. For that, the CIGS samples were characterized through X-ray diffr

5. Thin-film ZnO/CdS/CuIn1-xGa xSe2 solar cells: anomalous physical properties of the CuIn1-xGa xSe2 absorber
Thin-film ZnO/CdS/CuIn1-xGa xSe2 solar cells are manufactured with ~20% solar-cell conversion efficiency. The CuIn1-xGa xSe2 (CIGS) absorber exhibits rather different physical properties compared with conventional semiconductors (e.g. Si, GaAs and ZnSe). For instance, (i) the valence-band maximum in CIGS consists of cation-d-anion-p hybridized states. (ii) C

6. Activities of tabanids (Diptera, Tabanidae) attacking domestic duck-Cairina moschata (Linnaeus) (Aves, Anatidae), introduced in a forest area in the Central Amazon, Manaus, Brazil

7. Activity of Tabanids (Insecta: Diptera: Tabanidae) Attacking the Reptiles Caiman crocodilus (Linn.) (Alligatoridae) and Eunectes murinus (Linn.) (Boidae), in the Central Amazon, Brazil
Tabanid females are better known as hematophagous on man and other mammals, and linked to mechanical transmission of parasites. The association between tabanids and reptiles is poorly known, but has been gaining more corroboration through experiments and occasional observation in the tropics. The present study was conducted at a military base (CIGS/BI-2), si

8. Comparing Computer-interpretable Guideline Models: A Case-study Approach
Objectives: Many groups are developing computer-interpretable clinical guidelines (CIGs) for use during clinical encounters. CIGs use “Task-Network Models” for representation but differ in their approaches to addressing particular modeling challenges. We have studied similarities and differences between CIGs in order to identify issues that must be reso

9. The InterMed Approach to Sharable Computer-interpretable Guidelines: A Review
InterMed is a collaboration among research groups from Stanford, Harvard, and Columbia Universities. The primary goal of InterMed has been to develop a sharable language that could serve as a standard for modeling computer-interpretable guidelines (CIGs). This language, called GuideLine Interchange Format (GLIF), has been developed in a collaborative manner
