25. Design and Synthesis of an Ultra Wide Band FSS for mm-Wave Application via General Regression Neural Network and Multiobjective Bat Algorithm
Abstract In this work is presented a hybrid bioinspired optimization technique that associates a General Regression Neural Network (GRNN) with the Multiobjective Bat Algorithm (MOBA), for the design and synthesis of the Frequency Selective Surfaces (FSS), aiming its application in data communication systems by diffusion of millimeter waves, specifically, in

26. Double Layer Frequency Selective Surface for Ultra Wide Band Applications with Angular Stability and Polarization Independence
Abstract In this paper, a double layer stopband Frequency Selective Surface (FSS) for Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) applications is presented. The proposed FSS consists of two cascaded conventional FSS, one with double square loops and other with square loops. The − 10dB frequency band from 3.00 GHz to 11.64 GHz is achieved, with a fractional bandwidth of 149 %. E

27. Simulation and Design of a Bandpass Filter Based on Substrate Integrated E-Plane Waveguide
Abstract This paper presents a bandpass filter based on a substrate integrated E-plane waveguide (SIEW) structure for wireless applications, at X-band. The SIEW geometry allows the development of new horizontally polarized filter topologies, unlike filter structures based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), which present vertical polarization (perpendic

28. Compact Broadband High-Directivity Microstrip Directional Coupler
Abstract The difference between phase velocities of the odd and even modes in inhomogeneous microstrip coupled lines makes the microstrip directional coupler a poor device regarding directivity. In this work, this issue is successfully compensated by the addition of a matching network at the ports of coupled lines. Furthermore, the proposed matching network,

29. Wideband Pattern Reconfigurable Printed-Yagi Antenna Array Based on Feed Structure
Abstract A pattern reconfigurable antenna array with two elements is designed in this paper. The antenna element is made up of a printed Yagi and feed structure with variable phase. By changing the states of diodes in the feed structure of these two elements, the far-field radiation phase of both elements can be changed. That is, the pattern reconfigurable f

30. Study and Optimization of Raman Amplifiers in Tellurite-Based Optical Fibers for Wide-Band Telecommunication Systems
Abstract Here we present a numerical analysis and the optimization of a multi-pump discrete Raman amplification system based on the use of a Tellurite optical fiber as the gain media. By using previously reported optimization techniques we were able to exploit the high Raman gain of Tellurite optical fibers and its multipeak spectrum to achieve amplification

31. Crescent Shape Microstrip Antenna for Dual polarized Multi-band Response
Abstract Novel design of multi-band Crescent shape microstrip antenna is proposed. Modifications in equivalent circular patch yields new resonant modes nearer to the TM11 and TM21 modes in circular patch that gives four band frequency response showing dual polarizations. Proposed design gives 1 to 1.5% of bandwidth at each frequency with broadside radiation

33. Analysis of a tuned liquid column damper in non-linear structures subjected to seismic excitations
Abstract The behavior of the tuned liquid column damper (TLCD) is analyzed in the control of non-linear structures subjected to random seismic excitations. The structure is modeled as a system of one degree of freedom with incursion in the non-linear range. The Bouc-Wen hysteretic model is used to model the non-linear behavior of the structure. A stationary

34. Comportamiento magnético del acero AISI 304 en ensayos de tracción uniaxial
ABSTRACT During the magnetization process of a ferromagnetic material, the magnetic domain walls are forced to move due to the magnetic field influence. The domain walls must overcome the stress produced by the pinning sites (grain boundary, dislocations, inclusions, etc.), producing discrete jumps in the magnetization. These jumps can be detected with a sen

Abstract A compact broadband millimeter wave antenna for intelligent transportation (ITS) application is proposed in this paper. This antenna uses coplanar wave guide feeding technique for broad bandwidth. The proposed antenna works at 79 GHz resonant frequency having a large bandwidth of 78.2 GHz. The measured gain of the antenna is 17.5 dBi. The proposed a
