RESUMO

Both issues, the epistemological such as the construction of scientific thinking throughout history and the psychological like the particularities of the human development in the act of knowing, mark the two theoretical choices in the present work. The thesis discusses concepts and conceptions from two specific approaches: the notions of Epistemological Obstacle and Rupture by Gaston Bachelard and the notions of Signification and Conceptual Elaboration by Lev Vygotsky in order to deep the research results with different theoretical contributions and identifying their implications in educational practices. The circumscription of these theoretical references is the result of an intensive work based on analysis and reconsideration of the paradigms established by the founding concepts of science teaching. The author s apprehension toward widely known and usually accepted conceptions has led the reexamination and inquiry of some precepts in this field of knowledge. Simultaneously, the research carried out an empiric survey, which was closely related to our theoretical investigation, in a center for the care of people with visual or hearing disability (CEPRE/FCM/UNICAMP), where was developed a science teaching project within a group of children during an entire semester. The relationships between what was experienced in our activities with children and the theoretical discussions was the keystone to redefine the research main objective: to investigate to what extent the objective of teaching science concepts in a specific context would lead to new understandings about the processes of concept elaboration and knowledge appropriation in teaching relations. The interactive dynamics analyses focused on relationships between subjects - adults and children - and knowledge in order to turn out visible some moments when conceptions, perceptions and senses become interwoven in the intentional act of teaching and the (inter) subjective processes of learning. The interpretative work of both theoretical and empirical cases highlighted the singularities of methodological procedures and the analytical approach refinement used for many different ways of knowledge appropriation and sense production. This work was a result of continuous (re)visits to the indicial aspects of empirical cases. From this analytical exercise based on learning and observation, the research result revealed itself as a privileged space for the inquiry of how knowledge is considered as an inter-subjective event which happens in human interactions. It also contributes to teaching conceptions development, science conceptions and the improvement on the very process of knowledge construction.
