RESUMO

Abstract This article studies the reception of the Constitution of 1812 and the legislative work of the Cadiz Cortes in the Rio de la Plata, on the revolutionary political process, which will lead into the General Constituent Assembly of 1813.The approach used on this work begins with the understanding that both constitutional processes are framed in the same Hispanic constitutional culture, with a similar background and legal language on both sides of the Atlantic. We understand that this reception will be not only from constitutional articles but also from the legislative work of the Parliament, the related discussions in the Press, and the political treaties, joining other languages and constitutional models operating in the Rio de la Plata.
