Unusual Complication of a Carpentier-Edwards Porcine Valve

RESUMO
The following case report describes an early complication of a Carpentier-Edwards porcine heterograft in the mitral position that required emergency replacement of the malfunctioning biological prosthesis with a mechanical one.
